New dress... too short!

I'm a little taller than most women, so when I got a nice sun dress over the internet, I didn't realize it was marketed to a shorter crowd (they really do need to mark intended heights on the clothes). On the model, the hem line was near knee length, but, on me, I can't even bend over without flashing the world! It's terrible!

Any suggestions on how to save the dress, or is it a total loss?

how about wearing it with a pair of jeans? would it look good or tacky?

if its that short can't it be considered a kind of longer top??

also look at the hemline...does it have some material inside it that would make it possible for making it a tiny bit longer??

sorry if i'm not a complete help!

Some dresses have hemlines with a good 2-4" of fabric folded up to make the hem. If your dress is one of these, a tailor could let it down and perhaps make it wearable. Otherwise, like it was already suggested, leggings or wearing it with jeans would be about the only way to salvage it.
