This is the Essex Hobo in Dark Dune from nordstrom.com (nordies exclusive). The color is goooorgeous! Unfortunately the style didn't work for me. Like Bootlover said the shoulder strap sticks out if you're trying to use the longer strap..annoying! I was hoping I could wear crossbody (even though by measurements given I was doubtful.. was hoping they weren't accurate lol), but it fell way too short on me (I'm 5'8"). It is super soft and lots of pockets inside. If both the straps were different this would have been a perfect bag for me. Darn. I just wanted to post this since it's on their anniversary sale which ends in a few days, in case anyone was interested in purchasing. I guess I'll have to keep searching for a different bag in DD... oh well lol.

It doesn't photograph that great, but it really is a pretty bag.

Sorry that it didn't work out for you. It is a beautiful bag in a stunning color. You review helps me because I kept looking at this bag even though I already have one in dd.....:smile1:

I'm glad it helps! I buy a lot of bags online so it helps a lot to see others' posts. Oh and the bag was sent in the dust bag and with NO wrapping at all or even the price tag on it. Kind of odd since this is a new bag (I could tell it was never used). Totally opposite from the other bag I just received from Bloomies that had EVERYTHING wrapped. Store to store...and the SA that sends it out...always different.

I looked at this bag on at least three separate visits to Nordstrom's. I was mainly considering this bag in Merlot. The leather on the Essex is beautiful, so soft, and the style is lovely. However, this bag has a design flaw, which is that the short handle of the bag sticks out oddly when you use the longer strap, whether for shoulder or cross body. Annoying!! The reason that I kept going back to Nordstrom's is that I loved this bag and kept trying it on to see if I could get past or used to that weird short strap angle. But I couldn't, and so I didn't buy the Essex. :sad: Hope that MK fixes this design for the future.

Yep, I totally agree with you!!! I have other bags where I will use the longer strap, and as long as the shorter undetachable strap can sit nicely in front or the back of the bag then I'm good. This was not the case. Too bad because it is a beauty of a bag and sooo soft.

Does the handle come off of the buckles?? Is a really pretty bag. I am wondering if that strap is removable from the buckles? If so, that would solve the problem? Check it out!

The small handle doesn't come off. It doesn't even adjust even though it looks like it does. The longer strap is removable.

Have you seen this one? It doesn't have the crossbody strap but looks similar in other ways. It's super cute!!ImageUploadedByPurseForum1440211663.866226.jpg
