So today I headed down to Tiffany's to pick up a birthday gift for a friend and got sidetracked by the gorgeous sparklers collection. In particular I loved the way the gems sort of float on the necklaces...

They had the following colours available: amethyst, citrine, a green praseolite and a blue praseolite? I didn't see the smoky quartz one though. I put an order in for the blue praseolite because it's a very light blue, almost greyish, like a dirty diamond if that makes any sense. Couldn't take it home with me because I wanted the chain shortened so it would sit in the hollow of my neck.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? Because the official Tiffany's site does not carry the gem I am talking about. When I asked the SA whether it was a topaz, he said it was a praseolite... however it was very obviously different from the green one...

The receipt says SS praseolite pdt. Anyone?

hmm weird, i have never seen that. I dont think theres such a thing as blue prasiolite. prasiolite is technically green amethyst. I would love to see a picture. if its light blue with grey undertones it could be aquamarine?

Yes, I don't see it on their online catalogue either. It definitely looked like a very very light aquamarine but it was tagged as praseolite. Even the receipt states that it is a praseolite. I won't be able to get it back for another 2 weeks due to all the orders coming in for vday season, but I will post up pics once I get it.

I'm just very confused because I compared all of the stones before deciding on the light blue one. It was a toss between the blue or the green...

Maybe Tiffany's has slight variation in gem color for praseolites? No clue... Very curious now!

I bought a Tiffany Sparklers ring in gold and they had a light blue stone there that was an aquamarine. Not sure if the gold and silver lines have the same stones or not becauase I know the silver line has the praseolite and the gold has a lemon citrine instead.
