Neverfull vs. Ophidia Tote vs. YSL Shopping Tote

I have several designer bags but they are all very small or meant to wear to the office. What I really need now is an every day tote to replace my baby bag now that my kids are older (but still needy). I need something that holds my essentials (wallet, keys, phone, Tylenol, hand lotion), plus water bottles, coloring books, snacks, toddler change of clothes, and whatever toys they demand that I hold for them when we're out.

I am leaning towards a Neverfull MM in Damier Azur or empreinte noir. But I am also considering the Gucci Ophidia Medium tote in canvas or leather (with the two double handles) or the YSL leather shopping tote.

My questions are:
- What do you use your tote for?
- How does empreinte leather hold up in rain (we live in Houston and it rains a lot so it will get wet going from the car to door).
- Does anyone have the YSL tote and how do you like it?
- Does anyone have the Gucci Ophidia double handle tote and how do you like it?
- Is Gucci too obnoxious? I live in a TX suburb where everyone has LV and you wouldn't think twice about it, but for some reason Gucci seems to be considered for snobs. However, I feel that the quality is better, but I don't want to draw negative attention to myself.

I have both the NF and Gucci Ophidia medium tote that I bought preloved. I love Gucci but for some reason never reach for my Gucci bags so I need to change that. For some reason I always grab for my NF and the LE I am using now is the World tour NF and it’s nice because the trim is black and no vachetta and easy to use in rain and snow. I don’t know if I should be I always get concerned using the Gucci in bad weather for the fabric part of the bag. I sold my empreinte bags because for me I found the corners wore quickly And just didn’t like empreinte bags anymore. I can try the Gucci tote and let you know…I dont find Gucci obnoxious or loud, I rarely see Gucci carried by me mostly LV. I think Gucci bags are beautiful and have no problem carrying them..it’s weird how different brands are perceived in different areas. LV I think is I think considered a little snobbish in my area but I do see it often…

Thank you! That is definitely something to consider with the empreinte. Too funny about LV vs Gucci in certain areas. I swear everyone here has some type of LV canvas bag. It's part of the uniform. Gucci, oddly is not, and would draw eyes. But I honestly think people buy their standard LV bag to fit in and leave it at that. They've probably never bothered to learn about other designers.

I have both Neverfull and large discontinued Ophidia tote, Ophidia definitely stands out more, prettier more eye catching, maybe becasue rarely seen people wearing it (I actually never seen another person wearing the same one as mine, but seen ones wearing smaller ones),

Neverfull is practical can be folded, Ophidia can't be folded, I personally love my Ophidia more, because it's prettier, hahaha

I rarely got compliments on my Neverfull (be it GM MM DE or Mono or Azur), but I get compliments all the time on my Gucci Ophidia large tote

Neverfulls are nice bags, good looking but not as pretty, because I wear my speedy & speedy bs especially monogram ones often get compliments, because they are prettier, the Gucci large ophidia tote is a very pretty one, and look upscale too

That bag is so pretty. I’m going pull my Ophidia tote out and use it! Bought it preloved and haven’t used it yet.

Thank you! I actually was eyeing Ophidia when they first came out North South type but I know I don't prefer North South type, so as soon as this one came out, I knew it was the one, I went to store bought it, the Gucci SA was great, always had great experience shopping there.

Years ago, I considered the Neverfull, but I ended up getting the Gucci Ophidia Med tote, as I adore the print. I also really like the magnetic clasp and more structured look. No regrets at all! When I'm not using my crossbody Speedy while traveling or shopping, it is the Ophidia that I reach for most.
