Some LV stores are repairing it for free some don’t do it.
I own since 2017 one and she still looks like brand new but if you don’t feel sure go for a MO or DA one
When you say, "crack, rip, and become horrid", I am wondering what bags you are seeing. I have 2 NF, I don't care who else has them, they are everywhere for a reason. Fantastic bag. I have had no issues with mine, and the first one is probably 8 years old. You really have to have zero concern about your bag, any bag, to have it look as you are describing. If you own it for years and years of normal wear, and want to change out the trim, LV will do that for you.
