Neverfull MM: Damier Ebebe vs Mono

Hey All!

My next big purchase will be a Neverfull mm in either damier ébène or monogram canvas.

I am a DE girl till death but I like the way the neverfull looks after a lot use, a bit slouchier and less structured. Is it true that the monogram canvas is softer and will therefor better achieve this look? Please leave your experiences below, and if you have pics of your NVF, even better!

I have the NF GM and MM SIZE in mono and prefer the mono over the DE. straps get very comfortable which helps carry such a big bag

I have an MM neverfull in Mono, DA, and DE. Honestly I would definitely go with the monogram. I find the craftsmanship of the neverfull in DE to be pretty bad. If you do a search, people are always having problems with cracked and peeling handles. I love DE and haven't had any problems with it until owning the neverfull. I kind of regret buying a DE neverfull to be honest, I should have put the money towards a different bag.

I love my monogram neverfull. The handles have patinaed so well and i never baby this bag at all.

I've had my DE MM for about a year, and recently noticed cracks in the leather straps even though the rest of the bag is in perfect shape. After googling around it seems like a lot of people are experiencing these kind of quality issues…

I took it to the LV store and they first told me that "this kind of leather ages like that". I wasn't satisfied with that answer and they agreed to send it on repair free of charge.

In retrospect, I would have bought the mono, not because I don't love the DE look but for the quality.

If you're looking for slouchy and less structured, definitely get the mono. My DE NF is 4 years old and still very stiff.

I agree that the DE NF is so beautiful to look at, but it is very stiff and has not softened very much after 3 years use in my experience. Mono will slouch more and develop the beautiful patina. However, sometimes I do still prefer the DE because it is more discreet than the mono. I have had slight peeling issues but no cracking yet. Good luck deciding!

Hello. I'm really new (like just today) to this site, and I'm looking for info on the NF MM DE vs Mono. Can you tell me the best way to search for the other threads? Maybe my phone is what's making searching this site so difficult..?

I prefer the NF in DE but it definitely looks slouchier in Monogram, maybe because the canvas is thinner but also because the Vachetta isn't coated and is much softer.

I prefer the NF in mono, it is not stiff und it does not dig into your shoulder.

Hi I know this was a very long time ago! But I am looking into a mono neverfull mm as an everyday bag. I treat my bags with Apple garde so I am not that afraid of rain but wanted to ask how yours held up. I am thinking of getting either the world tour neverfull so I can have the treated leather or the regular mono neverfull.

I treat my bags with Apple garde so I am not that afraid of rain but wanted to ask how yours held up. I am thinking of getting either the world tour neverfull so I can have the treated leather or the regular mono neverfull.

Personally, I would choose the WT Neverfull with black handles as my first option. I LOVE black leather with monogram, they go so well together. I have a Neverfull MM in mono and really only prefer it because I get worried about the red corners on a DE Neverfull. Obviously if you the rose ballerine then this wouldn't be a problem though. I do really like the matte leather on the DE models now (as opposed to the shiny brown they used to do) so I think I may get a DE in RB next. I would order WT but honestly hate the wait for WT items (still waiting for my WT bumbag)!

Thank you for your response, I have a neverfull in DE with RB interior at the moment and am exchanging it for something because it is a defect I only used it for 3 weeks and it has cracks along the trim and a hole in the canvas! My SA said I could exchange it for anything so I was thinking possibly a monogram or a WT. I heard someone say the WT pieces were thicker canvas so not sure if that would be more durable than the DE. I was so upset I don’t know how I got the hole and don’t want it to happen again that why I was looking at the monogram canvas options. I’ve never seen mono bags have corner wear as bad as DE bags but also don’t know if I go the same bag again if I would have pink corners rather than red on my DE eventually. Why I was looking into WT is that I got my neverfull to use as my everyday bag and like the black leather just in case of weather even though I would treat the bag with Apple garde if I got the regular mono version.
