Neverfull gm DE: cracking issues?

Hi,
I’m planning on getting a neverfull gm DE to use as a work bag to carry my 14 inch laptop. I will probably keep in cinched and I was wondering if you had any cracking issue on the leather at the top of the bag after few years of using it?

I had cracking on my straps, but that was after a few years of use. Had the straps changed so it's good as new now. HTH

On my DE Neverfull MM, I had cracking on the top piping? area and handles. I sold it as it and no regrets.

Oh so you can replace straps. Good to know … really love the design and versatility … I’m gonna go for it! Lol

Yeah top piping is my biggest concern… did you replace it with vachetta neverfull like mono or DA or just bought another model?

Where did you get straps replaced? Does LV store do it?

I've had my NG GM DE since 2011, it's been getting consistent 5 day a week use (work bag) since 2019 (previously only lightly used). No cracking- and it's had a laptop, notebooks, lunch and a 2L water bottle in it Mon-Fri. The bag has held up better than me (sore back as a result of carrying on one side only)

However, if you do a quick search of the forum I think you'll see I am in the minority. DE straps cracking especially on the NF is not uncommon.
