Hey all! I really wished I had joined this forum under better circumstances. I was googling just now to see if any "high-end" retailers have done this to others in the past. That is what led me here (a couple of posts about bags).

I am a YouTuber so I made a video about this ongoing experience in hopes to inform others. That said, I figured I'd share my experience here too as receiving a fake was the last thing on my mind when shopping from a reputable retailer/authorized dealer. I intentionally avoided Ebay and all online dealers for that reason.

Needless to say I'm pretty upset.

Yes it seems like this is starting to happen frequently. In the Chanel forum someone else posted about this. Apparently people buy an authentic item and then return a fake look-alike item. The staff aren’t really trained to authenticate products so they process the return and put the product back onto the floor where it gets sold to someone else unknowingly.

Yes, there have been too many separate experiences with NM that I don’t trust buying anything there anymore, or any big department store. I’m sorry this happened to you.

It is really crazy. I mean, there is a second label implying that this particular pair was previously purchased. Aside from that situation, I've been dealing with processing the return for over a week. They said that Fedex would pick up last Thursday. Nope. Called back and they promised Friday. Nope. Called back and they swore on Tuesday (today). Nothing. I called them just now and said to just send me a label because I can't rely on them. They blame Fedex but I called them and they have nothing on their files.

Management also expressed no concern regarding the situation. Going to hurt their future business from me that is for sure.

Wow, this is messed up...
Were you eventually able to return them?
What a shame...

After the FedEx ordeal, I dropped them off at FedEx. They were delivered to NM in a few days. From there, I waited about 10 business days as on their site it says please allow 10-14 business days to process a return (who on earth takes that long anymore?). I called AGAIN and waited on the phone for nearly an hour while the associate consulted with a manager about the status of the return. She came back and said it would be a few more days as they had to send some sort of note to their warehouse to not ship me another pair since I was sent the incorrect style. Sounded like BS to me, but whatever.

During the whole deal, my APR charge hit because their entire process took over a month from start to finish. Keep in mind, I called to return the shoes and order the correct pair the day I received them (the first pair was overnighted). I mentioned that to the representative, and she expressed no concern.

I believe it was just last week that I FINALLY received a refund.

I don't think I'll be doing business with them ever again.

Wow, so disappointing, really. Can't even trust anyone except the Louboutin store itself.
Enjoy your new (real)) kicks! They are awesome!

Wow that's crazy! Thank GOD you picked up on the fact they were fake! Geez! I would be concerned as well if that happened to me as I would also think they may not believe me and then ill be out of all that money and own a fake! I did hear on the news years ago that someone bought a LV bag at the LV Boutique. A few days later she or he came back and returned the bag, but it was a FAKE! The person was caught. Ever since hearing about that I look over my luxe items. One thing tho, LV at times has lots of quality issues. It makes it harder to distinguish a real LV to a fake LV as some real LVs have crooked stitching, zippers not sewn on straight, sloppy glazing, etc. That shouldn't be the case with an authentic but it is with some of the LV bags. Hopefully LV scans each bag to check if what's being returned is real.

I know this is a really old post but I just watched the video. Wow. I’m so glad you checked the shoes so thoroughly. I had heard this happened with Chanel bags a few years ago but I had no idea people were pulling this scam with shoes too. Anyway, glad it all worked out, but those difference were plentiful and quite egregious. Big fail for NM. Separately, I LOVE your enthusiasm for your new shoes. I could really feel it through the video and it totally put a smile on my face (which is amazing considering the topic of the video was nothing to smile about). I hope you’re still rocking an awesome shoe collection.
