Need your expert opinions-is my necklace a yay or a nay?

I just got this necklace today......the jeweler is super nice and has told me to keep it for a few days before I decide. It is a multi-color Tahitian Pearl Necklace, 10mm to one large 14mm.

I am an over the hill grandmother, but still love jewelry., I have ocean white pearls strands from the 50's which are gorgeous.

My question: is the multi-color too trendy and once our Speaker of the House leaves the limelight is it going to be completely passe.......or is the multicolor trend here to stay.....should I instead get an all black......ideas and suggestions welcomed.....:heart:H

IMO, that is a gorgeous update on the classic string of pearls.

I have white and black strings of pearls and I like to wear them together.

i LOVE it, I think its beautiful and would definetly keep it!!!!!!!!

However, if you think you will wear the black more often then buy the black, its all personal choice. I'd wear the multi as often as I could though, those are beautiful pearls!!

OH WOW, i think you'd be a rockin stylish over the hill grandma. yes it is stylish but in the sense that it's a type of 'classic' stylish rather than 'fad/trendy' stylish. These are neutral colors that are fabulously able to be worn by any age, imo the combo couldn't have gotten any better. I think i'd keep an eye out for something like this the next time i shop, i love love love how it looks.

What a beautiful strand, just look at the lustre!! I totally agree with aquablueness, it's definitely a classic, not a faddish piece of jewellery. I find the all black strands too harsh while the multi-coloured one you have is versatile and goes with everything. Keep it!!!

I love it. I enjoy the look of a multicolored strand-- it's much more interesting. I could care less whether it's trendy or not. I'd love some bright multicolored pearls; pinks, green, golds, etc. :tup:
