I am looking for a recommendation for a LARGE tote bag - along the size of a recyclable shopping/grocery bag. The bottom needs to be flat and as deep as possible.

I am looking for something that can stand up to every day use as my tote bag to put all of my work items in - lunch, files, back up data tapes etc. I am flexible on color - anything but black - like suede or mixed materials - not fabric.

Handles/shoulder strap either or both is OK.

I am looking to spend $300 or less. Shop away and send me some links.

thanks

I have a large Longchamp Le Pliage tote bag and I absolutely adore it. The bottom isn't flat or structured like you wanted, but it is so versatile!

Hmm. $300 is tough for a leather bag of that size, unless you want to go preloved.

The Linea Pelle Dylan East-West tote comes to mind. There are pictures of the bag in this thread http://forum.purseblog.com/linea-pelle/my-first-reveal-linea-pelle-dylan-east-west-773458.html, and you can typically find LP bags for at least 25-30% off, which would put it in your price range. In fact, the LP website has it in a bunch of colors for $350: http://www.lineapelle.com/dylan-east-west-tote#. eBay also has some for $250 : http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-Linea-Pelle-Dylan-East-West-Tote-Violet-/271055988592

this LP tote might also be an option if you are OK with open-top/magnetic closure: http://www.lineapelle.com/nico-east-west-tote#

Some other options that have a more "structured" bottom, although I'm not sure if they will be large enough for you:

RM Dylan tote: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/rebecca-minkoff-dylan-tote/3419723?origin=category

TH tote: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/...yID=46015#fn=sp=1&spc=477&ruleId=65&slotId=70

Cole Haan Victoria Tote: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/...yID=46015#fn=sp=1&spc=477&ruleId=65&slotId=98

DKNY tote: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/...inkType=#fn=sp=3&spc=506&ruleId=65&slotId=249

DB Russel Tote: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/...inkType=#fn=sp=3&spc=506&ruleId=65&slotId=250

Thanks all!!!

I already own the cole haan victoria tote - I carried it last year as a purse

an open top is what I am looking for - along with the vertical height - leaning toward the Rebecca Minkoff Dylan - love that jungle color (turquoise)

Linea Pelle Nico EW tote is a player too - cognac is beautiful and it is larger than the RM Dylan.....

need a minimum of 5" on the depth of the bottom for my lunch bag.

Decisions decisions......

le pliage is awesome - but I need a bag with a greater depth.....as in wide at the bottom. (I have a big lunch bag )

love the suggestions though - I am being introduced to so many new brands -

GERARD DAREL - Love - would have never stumbled on that one....good thing I read French

Illebeca, a line of Gryson's, inexpensive sturdy leather. Nordstrom carries it. I think her large tote costs $195, and there are some on sale!

Also try Annabel Ingall Isabella tote: http://www.annabelingall.com/ A little higher than your price range at $450, but you can probably find it on sale somewhere.

The bottom is "flat" but it is not a "structured" tote. Dimensions are
•Width 22"
•Height 15"
•Width 5.5"
•Handle Drop 7.5"
