I'm traveling to Jordan and Istanbul next month and I'm looking for a practical but also stylish purse that I can use on this trip as well as other trips in the future. I plan on doing a wide variety of things, ranging from exploring museums to hiking and I plan on carrying water, my DSLR camera and potentially my iPad in my bag at all times.

I'm thinking that cross-body styles are probably the most functional?

Here are some purses that I am considering. If any of you have the purses below or have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Thank you!

To put in my two cents, I liked the Fossil crossbody bags. They seem very neutral & would go with any outfit. Plus, it looked like they have side pockets too, which are always convenient.

Definitely one of the fossil bags...I like the extra pocket on the back of the Fossil Stanton Traveller. Both Fossil's are well organized in terms of pockets/compartments. They have adjustable straps that look comfortable. And they look sleek while matching any outfit. So perfect for your adventures in the Middle East. Have fun!

As a DSLR owner, I always think that a camera-padded bag is best especially if you're going to be hiking and such. I've definitely carried my DLSR in a non-camera bag, but it was in a thick leather bucket drawstring that had some structure to it.

Here's a good brand that make camera bags that don't necessarily look like camera bags: http://www.onabags.com/

I agree too !

Don't spend too much money! When you arrive in Turkey, you will see lots of good quality and lovely leather bags which will suit your purpose perfectly...
A friend of mine spent her Christmas holidays in Istanbul and bought so many nice things that she had to buy an extra suitcase.....

I love the Longchamp Le Pliage large for travel. I used that for basically the same items as you listed, papers, tablet, dslr, P&S, etc. I feel more secure with a tote and keeping my items close to me under my arm than a cross body which would be easy to snatch. The Grand Bazaar is very crowded, so whatever you use, keep a close eye on it. Only thing it wouldn't be comfortable for would be real hikes.

Thank you!
You should consider the Louis Vuitton Estrela MM. Its a nice blend of luxurious, style and functionality and is roomy enough to hold that bottle of water, camera and other items without looking bulky. It has a double top handle leather strap and a removable and adjustable shoulder straps.
Enjoy your trip.

To really go in style. The Celine Mini Luggage Tote is an excellent choice too but don’t let its name fool you. It will be just as useful after your travels. A good choice would be in a neutral and monochromatic color such as off white or black. No one else has the functional wings that are ideal to hold a bottle of water. The leather is grainy and makes it very durable and of course it is stunning with its trendy frame. $$$ but amazing.
