Need some suggestions for purse and winter coat

Hi there,

It is my wife's birthday and I want to get her something very nice this year.

First, I'd like a winter coat that is quality, fashionable, and minimalist and modern. Nothing flashy or ultra fashionista. Neutral colors are fine. And of course I'd love it if it was very very warm as well.

Then, if possible, some suggestions for a matching purse.

There are so many brands I don't knoe what to get her. She doesn't normally get brand name so I cannot know what she would like.

My budget is around $1-2k.

Bag and coat for that budget will be very tricky. Especially if you want premier designer.

Here's one reason why women love bags so much:
Sizes aren't tricky! There are ways to get great coats at great prices. It's not about the amount you spend, it's what you save. I once picked up a cashmere coat for one-quarter of its retail price. These days that would be a $1K coat. I bought it because another customer told me I looked like a million dollars in that coat. No one knew that I didn't pay $850 for it. (That was a long time ago.) I have still have that coat, because it was a classic coat. You don't need to spend $2K on a bag for someone who doesn't really pay much attention to bags either. (Now if you absolutely know that she has her on eye on a specific bag, it's a little different.)I think you're a great husband to think of so much of your wife that you are investing time and thought into her gift.
