Hi guys!

So my DBF proposed to me a week ago during holiday and now we’re on the hunt for a ring.

I’m a bit confused to be honest, there are so many options..
Where I live its most common to wear plain gold bands for the engagement and then the bride get a weddingband with some stones at the wedding.

It’s also notable that 1 ct diamonds are considered huuuuuge here.

Right now I’m looking at halo’s, preferably with a centerstone at 0,5 ct, I love the antique feel they give as history is one of my biggest interests.

These are two rings that I’ve tried on so far (excuse my ugly hands):

The setting on the second one is more interesting, but as I’m left handed and clumpsy, it might ”stick” out too much? I think they’re open for a setting change though.

What do you think? I would love a dainty halo and, as I prefer simple clothing, it will be more ”visible” I guess?

Thank you !

I like the first one! I know what you mean about being left handed, my ering is high set and I try to be conscious of that. My husband thought of that beforehand and made sure that when they made my ring that the setting for the diamond was made super sturdy. Maybe ask for something like that?
And congrats on your engagement!

Nice to her from a fellow ”leftie”:). I’m really clumpsy aswell so I definately need something sturdy, even though I will be as careful as I can be.

First one.
Also, interesting that there are regional differences (like a plain band for engagement!) where you are. Do you mind narrowing down whereabouts that is?

Thanks!
I’m from Sweden:). It’s only in recent years that women are getting bolder with their choices, white gold is really popular, aswell as some diamonds. We’re definately being influenced by the US, but still, 1 ct is huuuuuge for us;).

I will also point out that I’m generally speaking and there are obviously exceptions.

My fiancee (can’t really get used to that) really thinks that I should get something sparkly, I’m not complaining;D!

I love the first one too, esp if it will sit flush with another band. Is it sold intact? Or do you select your primary stone? You could also probably order from an online vendor based in the US and compare costs. I think it's low enough that you won't constantly whack it but definitely be cognizant of it.

Yes it’s sold intact and in white gold (much more common where I live than platinum)..I will meet with a jewelry designer next week and look at her rings, with her I can choose the diamond and also get it in platinum.
We’ll see where it ends but it’s really exciting (and hard) :).
