Hi there. I need some advice. I bought a brand new Diamante leather bag, and the SA gave me a impregnation spray to use on the bag. After I sprayed my bag, I noticed that the spray made the stitching / seam a bit shaggy. I called the SA, and she said I can come and change the bag in another one. The problem is, that the other bag is a display-bag (they had only one left), and I could see that it had some tiny small marks etc on the leather, and I could see it hadn't that "brand new look" (I'm fuzzy). She didn't even know if they will carry more of this bag at the store in the future. So what's your opinion? Should I just Ignorere it? Am I too critical? I can't see it in normal light, but I know it's there..

Thanks. So you think the stitch wont get any worse than this?

Moisture (like from the spray) grease and dirt weakens stitches in the long run, in this case it's also done to them what rain does to my hair made it a bit frizzy. Can't say for sure, but I think it should be fine. It should be under guarantee for a while too so you can monitor it closely.

Your words is like tranquilizer ;)

If this was my first gucci or my gucci holy grail bag it would probably bother me. Is it possible to take a damp cloth over the threads to smooth them out? I don't know if that would complicate matters. Maybe ask your sa if it could help.

I don't think it's that noticeable... it stinks when you get your first ding on a new bag but enjoy it! It's a beautiful designer bag. :)
Thanks for your opinion. I try to ignore it now.. I suppose this would happen after a while anyway.

For what it's worth, I don't think it's very noticeable. This is common with stitching for the reason papertiger mentioned. Humidity would probably have caused it within the first six months of use if you used the bag in a humid environment. Also, I think the spray may have coated the tiny fibers that were already there, making them more noticeable. The protection you got from the spray may outweigh the look of the stitching.
