Hello everyone,

I'm looking to buy a pre-loved Birkin Bag (my first one). I found one I really like, from an online retailer, which is very well known where I live. I have already an appointment to go see the bag IRL as well.
There is one problem though: the description states it's in Buffalo Sindhu leather. I've been reading about Hermès leather and I found this was only used for the first time in 2007 and not on Birkins. The seller states the bag is from 2004.
You think this simply is a mistake or even a special order or should I walk away from this bag, given it might not be authentic?

Thank you very much in advance!

It might be Skipper Buffalo, which is my favorite leather for a Birkin. It wears like steel and is water proof. It is not a stiff leather so it has some flop, which I like. I have 40 cm and 35 cm. The 35 really does not flop, but 40 does. Skipper Buffalo is discontinued to my knowledge. In colors other than black it has a slight difference in how the dye takes in grooves which looks great to me.
