Cross posted to Gucci but I figure I would ask here too:

Hi all! I'm looking into a durable and lightweight crossbody that can dress up and down, and be good for both travel and carrying phone/wallet while I carry a larger tote for baby stuff when we have kids.

My size requirements are between 8-10 inches in length, 5-6 inches width. Enough to fit a continental wallet (though I'm willing to downsize), my iPhone 6+, and a lip gloss and mints.

I love the look of the marmont matelasse camera bag, but have concerns as to its scratch resistance. Anyone have this bag and can give some insight? IMG_5518.PNG

I've considered the disco, and while it's got the more practical and scratch resistant pebble leather and all-leather strap without a chain, my mind keeps drifting to the Marmont.

I've considered the Chloe Marcie crossbody mini and medium, but I feel like the mini may be too small, and I feel like the medium would get pretty heavy.

I've also considered 3 LV:
1) speedy B 25 in some canvas. It's lightweight for sure. Probably azur. But I already have a B 30, and I would be a little concerned about the vachetta, but I don't mind a little wear and tear on it.IMG_5513.PNG
2) Speedy B 25 in empriente. Concerns about having to baby the bag, and that I already have a speedy. IMG_5512.PNG
3) Twice in empriente. I like the classic lines, but the 1.6 inch width seems a little thin and I don't want it to look overstuffed.IMG_5583.PNG

Any other suggestions are welcome too!

I actually have 2 of the bags you listed above: speedy 25B in empreinte and twice in empreinte. I would recommend the twice because it is lighter than the speedy empreinte. I can actually my full size Chanel zippy wallet, my car keys, a lip gloss and my iPhone6+ in there easily and they don't make the bag look bulky at all. The back compartment alone has like an inch of width. It is my favorite bag when I'm out and about with my twins. :)

Hi, I have and love(!) the Gucci Marmont and was surprised when I first got the bag as I was expecting a soft lambskin leather (didn't read any descriptions and just assumed it was lambskin lol) but found that the leather was harder. It didn't wow me at first but now I am really glad that Gucci uses such durable leather as I can imagine it would retain its shape well, which was why I chose this over the disco bag, apart from the chain strap which I love! It's definitely holding up, no scratches showing and I have been using this for almost a month. Love the brass hardware. I have the black but the color you chose look really lovely! Quite ashamed to admit what I have in it but if it helps, I have my long wallet inside (it fits but maybe a bit tight when the bag is full, you kinda have do do a little maneuver), iphone 6, keys, wipes and diaper [emoji85]. Had some greasy onions and meat on it before (toddlers!) but it wiped off easy, no stains.

If the Marmont is your first choice, I would say go for it! I think you'll love it as I really do love mine! Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply! Mind showing me a photo of what it looks like with all your stuff in it?

Thank you for replying! Do you have the mini size (900$) or the medium size ($1200)? What kind of leather is it exactly? Couldn't find a description either, lol!

Sorry I honestly don't know and couldn't find the info anywhere. I did get a leather swatch that comes with it but it didn't say exactly what leather they use. Hoping someone with more knowledge might chime in. All I can say is it feels very durable and scratch resistant. Mine is the medium due to my wallet size, mini would be too small for me.

I have a Gucci disco and love it. No issues with fitting a full wallet, shades, phone, keys, and then some. I prefer bags without a flap, so that rules out the Chloes. I just think it's a hassle to have to flip it over and keep it flipped over when finding your stuff. The leather LV speedy looks nice too, if I were to go for any of the LVs you've listed there, I'd probably buy that variety.

The Celine trio in the large size is my favourite cross-body. I have it in navy and pretty much have worn it every day for two years. I use a bit of leather lotion on it every month or so and it looks as good as new. Fits so much too!

I have the same red Gucci Disco you posted here, and I absolutely adore it. It is very light weight, even with all of my items in it. Sometimes I forget I have it on, that's how light it is. It adds an extra pop to my outfits without being too blingy / obvious. I didn't realize how much I would love it until after I owned it. So my vote goes to the Disco!

Have you looked at Massaccesi handbags at www.marcomassaccesi.it I get my bags from this small Italian bespoke store. I have never been disappointed his bags are made the old fashioned way one bag at a time in a small leather atelier in Italy. His bags are beautifully made and very reasonably priced. I love the fact that he is making the bag especially for me with all the changes I want like a different lining color, the leather I select, extra pockets, a zipper if the design I select only has magnets to keep it closed. I previously had Chanel and Balenciaga and a couple of other reasonably higher end bags. I now buy all my bags from Massaccesi and have yet to be disappointed with the amazing quality of leather and craftsmanship. I have a couple of cross body bags from Massaccessi, the Penelope messenger, the Phoebe, the Zhoe, the Zhoe legend. I also have some of this mid size bags which are also really nice. He has a new smaller bag that I am looking at the Aura. He ships world wide and the lead time for getting a bespoke bag is pretty reasonable. I have ordered about 25 of his bags and have yet to have an issue with the bag or the shipping.
