I just got 2 pairs of Sergio Rossi heels that I ordered online. I can't decide whether I should keep them or return them. They fit width and length-wise, and I like the skinny heels. The platform on the nude pair is nice, and the colors of both would be useful. I'll need to add a heel grip to the nude pair, but that's it.

BUT, with both there is a gap between the front of the shoe and my foot - like "height-wise." See the pictures. Does it look okay, good, bad? Would you keep these or return?

I'm totally new to designer shoes. I want to make sure I'm getting a designer look if I'm going to pay designer prices! :p

They do 'look' a smidge big, however, if the length and width fit is how you like it, you should keep them.
Maybe your foot isnt as 'fleshy' as others, you can try putting half insole at the ball of the foot to 'shrink' the toe space and lift your foot higher.

Thanks quackedup! That's a good idea to try a half insole. I think I'll try that before I make my final decision. I am wondering if they are a half size too big... But I think if I went a half size down they'd be too tight (plus I got them on sale and half size down is sold out - so it really is a keep or return decision on these two pairs).

I had to tell you, because this is pretty funny:
I am impatient and wanted to see if insoles would help. But I don't have any around the house. So I used... breast pads! Hah. I have disposable breast-feeding-related nursing pads around the house. They are pretty thin, slightly soft and padded, and about the size of the ball of the foot. So I put one in each shoe and the shoes fit perfectly! Now I just need to find actual half-insoles with about the same thickness. :)

If it were me, I would return them. They just don't look like they fit your feet correctly. They do look like lovely shoes, but you can probably find something similar in the future that fits your feet perfectly. (I am speaking from my experienced of keeping sale shoes that I love but don't fit quite right. I end up finding something better and then regret the not so perfect shoes. Or I end up never wearing them because they aren't just right.) Good luck with your decision!

^^^ agreed. they look ill fitting especially if you are paying premium designer prices. i would shop around until you find a high end brand that fits your foot.

You should returned them, I am not a believer for any add on.. I prefer to get shoes that fit without any "external" help.

either i think they are 1/4 size too big or the style does not fit your feet. You seen to have skinny feet so I would suggest look for brands that will fit better.

I totally agree with tonkamama, shoes of this calibre should fit right out of the box with very minimal adjustment - no heel grips, insoles or ball of foot pads.
No matter how much adjustment you do, you will never be completely satisfied with them (IMO).
I think Sergio Rossi shoes just aren't made for your foot. You should try another designer. Shoes are built and designed on a "last" and some designers use a couple of lasts for different styles of shoes - some don't. Unfortunately, Sergio's doesn't work for your foot shape.
I understand your disappointment in a gorgeous shoe that isn't quite right. I desperately wanted a pair of these beautiful Lucchese riding boots but I can't wear them, can't wear the brand at all. I tried on four different styles just to make sure I wasn't crazy and I could not get my foot into one pair of those dang boots. Totally disappointed.

both are a half size too large on you. I'd exchange if possible. Otherwise return. Your legs/feet are very thin, the shoes look clunky on you, sorry but I don't think they complement you at all.

I think you should wait to try them with insoles then, and if they do fit, keep them! Nothing wrong with that, IMO :smile1:

I'd be interested to see if the insoles help at all.

My concern is that they are both suede which seem to stretch out more than your average leather. I would be worried about the shoes stretching out too much which would make the half insole unhelpful in the long run.

If you got these shoes for a KILLER deal, than why not, insole away. However, if you paid decent cash money for these, I say return them for something that fits better. Especially since you've picked such a classic style, there's got to be a variety of great alternatives for you.

I have skinny feet as well, so I often have the same problem as you with the gaping at the top of the toes. I just wanted to chime in since I've been in your shoes (haha, sorry, couldn't resist the pun).

I find that unless the gap is pretty small, ball of foot pads help but generally aren't always completely able to lift my foot up enough to completely fill the extra room. I would return these as they definitely look too big on you, and the gaping makes them (and unfortunately, by extension, as in the case of all ill-fitting shoes, the wearer) look sloppy - you deserve better, especially since you probably want to look AH-MAZING when you rock shoes like these. Both pairs of shoes are gorgeous, and I can completely relate to the desire to keep. I've tried keeping shoes like this in the past, but always ended up switching them out for another pair of shoes that actually fit (and thus was more flattering!) right before leaving the house. In the end, I've had to purge them, having wasted both time and money.

Since there are so many shoes out there, in my opinion, there really is no need to put up with ill-fitting (or uncomfortable) shoes. You will find shoes that are both gorgeous and fit...I promise!
