Hey Guys,

I've been away for a while...year long bag ban :P I just picked up a brand new Colette Medium Messenger. I love the bag but need some help...I picked one up in the color Sun because it really caught my eye and would look great for summer but I had to pay full retail price at $328...ouch for a small bag. Macys has a sale tonight and tomorrow for 20% off....which is a good amount...$65. What do you guys think...is Sun worth $65? I'm not dead set on yellow...i just liked that it was trendy and eye catching. I only have 1 black bag but its very similar ....small crossbody. I included my modest bag/wallet collection so you see what I already have. Thanks!!

The medium messenger looks a lot bigger than I thought it would. It's a great functional size. I love it in Sun. Unless, you had your eye on another color, then I would say it's worth the extra $65. It's best to get a bag that you're in love with....:D

Yes, it is totally functional. You can fit a lot...wallet, phone, keys, kindle, makeup bags. I love bags this size :) I forgot to mention...I am deciding btwn yellow and black. The black is nice but it resembled my coach black saffiano satchel. However, that bag's coach symbol is starting to wear off ever so slightly so it wouldn't be terrible to have a similar bag. What do ya think :/

You can fit a full size wallet?
I personally prefer the sun over black.

You must of liked it pretty well, or you wouldn't have paid full price, right?? Why not just keep it, since you like it so much? Enjoy!

Thank you so much guys... honestly I'm probably going to keep Sun. You are all right... I was very drawn to it and I definitely love it. I also think it will be better for the summer. However, since I am very stubborn and live 5 minutes from the mall, I quickly picked up the black as well. I'm glad I did because it was the last one at Macy's. The black one is on sale because Macy's doesn't have Sun yet. The black one cost $280 with tax. The yellow was purchased at the Michael Kors retail store for $360 with tax. Ugh...so Sun actually costs $80 more and I'm cost conscious lol...Ok...here's some pics....the black is really gorgeous and chic....i must say. Ok....final thoughts guys? Be honest....i know im a pain :P

Hi! I purchased the medium black colette messenger for full price as well, right before the Macy's VIP sale. I ended up returning it and getting the large colette in black for a lot less. Can you still call Macy's customer service to try to hunt down a medium in sun for 20% off?? I believe shipping would be free. Any savings is better than nothing!

I purchased a pale pink medium selma messenger through Macy's but since it wasn't at my local store, they had it shipped to my house with the discount.

Macy's only sells the colette messenger in black and luggage. They checked to see if they could order it but they can't. I picked up the black on sale tonight. I'm torn on which color to keep. It's tough to justify $80 more for sun when black is also really nice. but hey its a tough decision but fun one I guess. I will say that I'm concerned about color transfer with the yellow since I definitely plan to wear it cross body a lot....something to think about...

I really like black (cuz I have a black colette haha) and I would say you should go for black if you are more concerned with the price savings. I think the sun is gorgeous and is worth full price as well but I probably wouldn't wear it in winter and yeah the color transfer would be something to stress about. Black is always versatile!

I know...black is starting to win out due to the great price and easier to keep clean!
