Need help with guy's watch!!!

Hi,
I am trying to get my bf a watch for our 5 year anniversary and was wondering if anybody knew what like the top 25 men's watches were.
I would like to start by researching the different brands and when I choose a brand that I like, then I will choose a model from that brand.
But the problem is that I don't really know anything about guy's watch brands and what men like the most.
So if anybody has any info on the list of watches men like best, please help me out!!
