I would ignore cost and buy the ones you really want. Otherwise you will continue to want the pair later.

Hi having both paved and hammered (RG, YG, but I don’t have onyx) I can only say I really love the paved ones and wear them casually with all my outfit. I’d say it so easy to wear them. It is my new everyday earrings at this moment. Don’t know if you wear a lot diamond studs already ? If yes I think you would wear them also a lot because before VCA I was a diamond studs girl 😛. But hammered or onyx are also perfect options. I would consider hammered secondly as this will go with every yellow gold earrings … is also a classic and nothing to worry about as you cannot scratch it …
Anyway you cannot go wrong with either of the 3 pieces. Onyx with your blond hair could be nice
I own the vintage pave RG & love them to death. Ever hesitated to get another hammered pair in YG but decided to pool my $$$ towards a pair of pave in WG instead. This shows how much I love the pave, enough to splurge on potentially 2 pairs. They can be worn day to nite, seriously not over dressy.
All of these would be great choices - if you like matching sets, then the onyx or hammered gold would do that. Of those, I'd pick the hammered gold since they will go with everything you might get in YG in the future whether Alhambra or other lines. For years, my hammered YG set was my travel set - I don't have to worry about any piece getting wet/scratched etc. Recently (luckily before the PI), I was at my boutique for something else and a different SA came over with the pave RG earrings which had never been on my radar. They had just come in and she said I had to try them, and she was right! They go with everything (I don't mind mixing VCA YG and RG and I don't wear a lot of WG) and have just enough sparkle that you can see them but not so much that they look too dressy. They will become my new go-to travel earrings so I can have something a little more sparkly if we're going out to the theater/dinner, but they are still ok for daily wear while touring around. I think the pave ones in your photo look great on you, BTW.
If the pave for you is only for dressy/occasional wear then I would recommend the hammered instead .
Thank you so much everyone for your help. I am leaning toward the pave as I know they'll just keep getting more expensive. If the tariffs kick in, these would be getting close to 20,000. and I really don't love them that much.
I was in your position a year ago. I loved the versatility and casual feeling of the onyx but loved the sparkles of the pave. I ultimately got the YG pave and have loved them. Yes, I can’t wear it 24-7 but I wasn’t going to wear the black onyx 24-7 anyways as it is not work appropriate in my line of work. The pave feel much more special because they sparkle. But most days, I wear my mikimoto pearls and wear other earrings over the weekend. Here are some photos to help you decide.
