Hi lovely ladies / gents

My daughter 12 years old has one wish and that is a bag for x-mas. She loves my handbags but I dont really justify buying her an lv or hermes he he he. But does anybody have a suggestion on what a little girl would find lovely for her first bag?

In addition to the ones mentioned above you may also want to look into Dooney & Bourke. Or if you are not opposed to gently pre-owned maybe look at a pre-loved LV crossbody. Some of the smaller ones are lovely and would be a great size for her.

Hi lovely ladies / gents

Is your daughter a fashionista? If she just wants a nice classic bag she can take to school, I suggest a Cambridge satchel since you can emboss her name with a picture and it comes in really pop colors. I suggested it to a mom here a while back and her daughter really loved it.

But if she specifically likes your designer bags, you might have to look for something with that style. I think Rebecca Minkoff's micro perry is a cute size or the mini Love if she likes the boy bag style. Or Furla candy if she likes the speedy style.

She's 12. Her wants/likes will be very different than ours. Wanting to fit in with her social circle and peers are quite important at this age. Find out what brands or styles her friends are into. Take her browsing through the stores so she can try them out. Surprise her on Xmas day.

How much you want to spend on her is up to you.

I would take her out shopping to get an idea of what bag styles she gravitates toward. I would suggest a cross-body or shoulder bag so she can carry the bag even if her arms are full of school books. Also, find out if she wants a neutral color bag, black bag, or even a more brightly colored bag. Once you find out the styles she likes and the colors she likes, find a nice bag that matches this. I do agree that a Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac might be a good option. Perhaps show her some pics of RM bags and see if she likes the styles offered. And you can find really good deals on them at Saks Off 5th, Nordstrom Rack, etc.

May I suggest you look through the school dress code before you spend a lot of money.
The school district I live in did not allow purses for middle schoolers. All backpacks had to remain in the locker.
Her high school has a "no metal" rule.
No chains, clips, padlocks or links. Zipper pulls must be shorter than 3 inches.
Would be a total bummer to find a cool bag and she couldn't carry it to school.
BTW, I started both girls with a plain black Coach swing bag.
