But not going to a party, hosting one. For a two year old, but mostly adults in attending. I know it seems silly but I would like to look really cute. I will busy hosting and bbq-ing so I need to be functional and cute. And I need a reason to go shopping, so let's here any ideas, thanks ladies!

In door out door? wear a colorful or playful dress! not too tight but kind of anthropologie type of feeling.. comfortable with little details here and there

^^^Not really sure on how much $ you are looking to spend or if you want a dress or pant/shirt outfit... but here are some ideas that I think would be cute for a party outfit...

Here are a couple of dresses from Banana Republic that would be super cute!

um the budget within 100-200 ish. I love those dresses, with cute flats. The party is mostly indoors but I will be the one doing the bbq so i thing that pants outfit from banana republic would be cute! Thanks for all advice, my brain is on vacation dealing with a sick child and planning this party! Thanks gals! I think banana republic is a great place to start!

I know, I love BP!!

Well, I don't think the 2 year old is going to have much of an opinion... I'd go with a casual dress over jeans - spring dresses are cute by definition! If you're in Cali, I'd head to Nordstrom or Bloomies and ask an SA to help you pick out something, or just flip through racks yourself. You can definitely find something nice in that price range at either of those stores.

I hear it's been warm in Cali!

yeah I am on cali, it has been warm, i love it. only a handful of kids, about 20-25 adults but I rarely dress up so I thought it would nice to put some extra effort. I like to dress when I have the chance so I thought a nice casual outfit would be fun! Thanks

Are you in southern CA? I am up North and it is so cold right now and raining pretty hard too :s

Since you are going to be BBQ'ing and running around, chasing your kid, etc. I'd wear a pair of skinny jeans, a nice shirt/top and those YSL on your avatar .

I love that BR tunic CoachGirl12 suggested
