Dear fellow Chanel lover,

I live in US. May I know are any of you familiar with the way we make a purchase at Chanel stores about deposit and price increasing? I made deposit (a deposit of half price of the bag) for the classic flap bag on the Jan 14; the next day the price was increased. I’m still on the waiting list. I wonder that since I already paid for deposit and when the bag comes, do I pay for the old price or the increased price? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks all!

I believe so. However, I don’t know if you even had an option to pay in full or not depending on where you purchase it from. I had an option to prepay (in full) for a mini WOC at BG in October and the price went up before I received my bag but I didn’t have to pay extra cuz I prepaid.

I think it makes sense when we pay in full before the price increases and we get honor for that. And I will ask next time when I’m in the Chanel store, it’s great if we can pay in advance to avoid paying extra later on cause their bags are in high demand and we are always on waiting list. Where is BG ;).

Hi!

I made a full deposit at hirshleifer for a Chanel classic all the way back in January. My bag just arrived at the store and I was told by my SA today that I will have to pay the new price which is an additional 400. I feel they should honored the old price considering that I made the full deposit so early. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I would look into what the receipt says. I could be wrong not sure what state laws would say but if you purchased any goods in full your receipt says total amount paid in full I never saw any receipt that says pending price increases your liable for the difference. It's like you ordered something on back order. You pay for the item that was listed at the time of sale. If the merchandise price go up why should you pay the difference? The merchant will receive the higher price from customers that placed an order at the new price. I would check my local state laws. Not sure of policy outside of the U. S.

I agree with looking at the receipt. It also depends where you purchased from. I’ve preordered before and put a deposit down and have only paid the price it was before the increase.
