Hello everyone!

I am hoping that you will be able to give me some advice/help on choosing out a piece or two from Tiffany & Co. So the story goes because I chose not to get a class ring when I graduated from high school last year my mother told me that she would rather spend the money on a different piece of jewlery one that I would wear all the time and that I wouldn't get sick of. So I had mentioned to her that she could buy me something from Tiffany & Co. and to my surprise she actually agreed to it! :smile1:

So I need your opinions on what I should get from there, I am looking more along the lines of possibly getting a necklace for sure and then either a bracelet to go with it or a possibly a ring instead. Ohh and fyi I am going to be 19 in like 2 weeks, so I'm thinking something more along the lines of classy & elegant. But I still do like the 'Return To Tiffany' line.

Here is what I have found thus far that I like:

Necklaces, Bracelets then Rings

I know that I have a lot of different choice...sorry. I guess that is why I need peoples opinions to help me narrow it down.

Thanks everyone! :D

Sorry it's in more than one post I couldn't fit all the pictures in one.

Are there some in the pictures that you are more drawn to?

I would get either:
1- The pearl necklace and bracelet, and the third ring
OR
2- The Return to Tiffany Heart Tag necklace and bracelet, and the second ring (can't remember the name).

As you could probably see I am drawn to hearts...but I do really love the simplicity and elegance of the pearls...and I do need a good set of pearl jewlery!

So I am pretty much thinking the same combos as you did, for sure the two pearl items together or the Return To Tiffany items together...I just wasn't sure if the Return To Tiffany items were geared more towards a younger crowd, which I guess I would still be considered part of.

Ohh and just for reference are you counting the link to that one ring as #1 or are you starting with the first pictured one as #1?

OMG I have the same dilema. BF is getting me some jewellery from Tiffany but I can't choose which ones! I want something that I can wear every day.

I actually went to Tiffany today and tried on ring 1 and 2. have you tried them on?

Ring 1 was TINY! wouldn't look great if you have big hands like me. It was really pretty but I think you'd need tiny hands and body to make it look nice.
Ring 2 IMO didn't look elegant enough - they heart was a bit too big, looks a bit ... bleh.

My fave was:

It looked very nice, more oomph, but couldn't decide if it was too trendy for an everyday ring. What do you think. Sorry for asking Qs in your thread =p

I'm not really a fan of the big return to tiff tag anymore, they are a little outdated here in London IMO. The tiny tags however look really cute and not as loud and in your face. Hope I don't offend anyone!

hope the links work

No, I have not tried them on yet I have to wait until I go shopping out of state again because I do not have a Tiffany & Co. around me.

Then I'm guessing that the first ring wouldn't look good on me because I do have bigger hands...which is sucky because I thought that ring was cute. And yah I guess I do agree about the 2nd one as well, it does seem for trendy then elegant.

Ohh no problem about asking a question. lol I like that ring, there is just something about it-probably the simplicity well at least to me makes the ring stand out. And you are right there is more oomph. I don't think it is too trendy, because it is not a full heart design like the other rings. I think it is definitely more elegant that the previous ones.

The necklace in the 2nd link is very nice as well. If you are going with the elegant theme, than I would choose that one. I really like it!

You will have to let me know what you end up getting!

Of the necklaces you have pictured I would pick the pearl one because it is the most classic piece. However, I do think you could find a necklace of equal quality somewhere else for a fraction of that cost, since to me it isn't a necklace that has traits that only Tiffany's does well. If you are looking for the Tiffany name then go for it, though. Of the rings I would pick the smaller single open heart...but I agree with everyone else about trying it on first. If you like hearts, have you thought about the Elsa Peretti Open Heart? I have it and I know everyone else does.....but it really is beautiful and it seems like in your price range you could get one with a diamond ($375). I wear mine practically everyday

My favorite out of the choices you gave are the 1st necklace, and the pearl bracelet (the 1st one). My mom has the "Return to Tiffany" bracelet you posted, but personally, I can't stand wearing it because I find the little tag rather annoying. Good luck making your choice, hope you have a wonderful birthday :smile1:

Personally, I like necklace #2 (I have an affinity for lariat necklaces, especially from T&Co). The pearl bracelet is nice, but to me it looks super fragile...since a T&Co isn't near you, you'd have to drive to have it repaired and then pick it up...

If I could throw something out there, I have this bracelet from a long time ago and it is virtually indestructable. Since you like hearts, maybe you can give it a try. Not sure if they carry it in the brick and mortars anymore, but it is available at Yoogi's Closet, a reputable consignment shop in Seattle that I know some of the girls buy their bags from

^Ooo...I like that bracelet a lot, it is very different and unique looking! Thanks for sharing!

And that is a good point, the bracelet does seem fragile and I don't want to have to drive out of state to have it fixed. Thanks for your input!

I like the pearls by the yard, necklace and bracelet. I think they are classic and you wont get tired of them. I also do like the 3rd open heart ring, I bought it when I was in my early 20's in yellow gold with diamonds but about 4 years later I decided to sell it. I then ended up getting the same ring in platinum with diamonds, only to decide to sell it a year later...I think I just got tired of wearing a heart ring...

I think necklace #2 is a very sweet piece - something that you could wear everyday and is distinctively Tiffany's yet still subtle (it's kinda tiny in the pic but looks like the peretti open heart shape). Certainly something you can dress up or dress down.

That said, I was your age when I received my first piece of Tiffany's jewelry so making this a bit nostalgic I'll throw it in there as well...it was this "Return to Tiffany" necklace:

http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Ite...+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+return+to+tiffany's&search=1

It's simple and I found it totally appropriate for my age. It was great to wear throughout university (although the chain ended up breaking after about 1.5yrs...you have to be careful when taking sweaters on/off as it tends to snag) and when I don't feel like wearing diamonds I'll wear it every so often to work.

Whatever you choose I'm sure you'll be thrilled and congrats on your first T & Co piece!!!!

*hugs!*
