Need Help picking 2 bags!!

Hi All,

I’m heading to London in a weeks time and the hubby gave me a limit of 2 bags, I have my heart set on these 5 bags! But I just can’t pick 2 They’re all so beautiful!

I was wondering if anyone that owns any of them could let me know the quality and if theres been any problems etc with them please. Or any thoughts and recommendations. I was worried about colour transfer on the Gucci Marmont in nude but haven’t come across anyone saying that it’s happened with theirs yet.

Any bag in a light color has color transfer potential so you would always have to be aware of what you are wearing, you could get the Marmont in black, IMO the Marmont is the best bag for the money spent. I do love the Antigona and the YSL College bag. The LV is my least favorite, LV has better options IMO. Good luck and have fun on your trip.

Color transfer can happen on any light colored bag. I like the Marmont, but maybe it would be wise to get it in a darker color. If you get two bags, do you want two black? I don't care for the Givenchy. All the others are similar, all flap bags. Of those, I like the Gucci the best, the LV the least.

Thanks for your response ladies, the Gucci Marmont was actually my first choice. Love the design but was just worried that it is quite trendy and might go out of style soon.

I’ve only even heard great things about the Givenchy antigona, so thought it might be a good bag to start up my collection.

Love love love the Saint Laurent designs, I find them really classic. but after searching through the forum, it seems like there’s a lot of quality issues with the brand.

The LV was picked by my hubby, as he didn’t like the Marmont, but maybe he doesn’t have good taste in bags [emoji23]

I have Gucci marmont small in dusty pink same as in your pic I only have it for 2 months so cant really comment much about wear and tear. But I love the bag so far!
And also Givenchy Antigona small in grained goatskin in brown. I have it for almost 2 years now and have been wearing it so much and so far so good. The leather is very durable! At first I wanted the black smooth leather as in your pic, but the SA said grained goatskin is a better choice as its tougher. And I also more into brown/nude color and they only have brown in goatskin leather.
I do have YSL in my wishlist as well, but YSL Kate medium in black and gold hardware. Your YSL choices are pretty too! Goodluck deciding!

So far no colour transfer. But its only been 2 months and I havent been wearing it much yet. And I think I only wear the marmont with light color pants and washed jeans (jeans that I'm sure have no colour transfer) so far. The colour is so beautiful and easy to match I think you should get it!

I have both the YSL bags. Large envelope in black and medium college in a dark grey with gunmetal (I even have the large college in navy with gunmetal) .

I LOVE my college bags, they are super soft, I love the compartments that allow me to stay organized while keeping my items secure, and they are comfortable to wear over my shoulder or wrist. I can dress them up or down or use them for work.

I reach for the envelope less, it has a more adjustable strap, but it feels more narrow to fit all my essentials. It is a bit dressier, especially if you were to get the gold hardware.

In terms of quality issues, I find that happened most with my WOC. After one use the edges wore right off. Super disappointing.

Whatever you pick make sure one of them is the Antigona, Givenchy makes great quality bags! If you like the marmont but scared that they would be out of style perhaps get it in black too?

I just came across the dior diorama which looks amazing also. What do you ladies think about this one?

Just a question though, based on the shapes of most your bag interests, are you perhaps interested in a Chanel classic flap too? I only ask because my holy grail is a Jumbo and I feel like all my bags before it were leading up to that bag subconsciously.

I do love bags that hold their shape, and are really clean cut looking.

I’m really after something timeless which I know the Chanel classic flap is, but I’ve surprisingly never fancied one. But who knows maybe one day..

The hubby won’t be pleased when that day comes!
