Need help on gift idea!

Hello -- a lost husband here despite hours of researching....

My wife has a big birthday next month and I also want to surprise her with a gift for mother's day as we are expecting our first!

She currently has a pink Prada saffiano (I think?) and an old Marc by Marc Jacobs black crossbody which is falling apart.

I have a budget of ~$3000, and have been debating whether I get her either...
- Celine Cabas Phantom (small) & some crossbody
- Celine nano belt & some tote (e.g., YSL or Everlane even...)

Thinking we need a big bag for the baby that's coming, and a smaller one for her use daily (something that can keep a water bottle, cell phone, wallet, etc.). We don't like anything flashy and she is petite.

Any suggestions on what good options are?? Thanks so much in advance!

Congrats! I don't have any Celine so I can't offer any advice. Maybe ask on the Celine board? I just want to say you are a very thoughtful husband and it's very sweet of you to surprise her!

Congrats! I don't have any celine bags, but based on your description I personally prefer nano belt + some other tote. For a baby bag you probably want the tote to be carefree and lightweight, so maybe something canvas or nylon or a less expensive leather tote is better than a premium leather tote. I am not sure whether a water bottle can fit in the nano belt though.

Perhaps you can ask for her input? Surprises are nice, but for 3K perhaps she would like a hand in picking it herself?
