Hey Ladies,

I have purchased a Black Epsom Constance with Rose Gold Hardware in December and have recently just gotten it out of the closet and wearing it for the first time! However, I noticed the surface of the front side looks a bit weird? and was wondering if this is normal or a defect? Has it happens to any of you? I was probably way too overjoyed in the store and didn’t even bother to notice it. Not sure if I should bring it back to a Hermès store. I have attached some pics. Thanks for all the help! It’s sure making me worried!!

I wouldn’t say it was a defect but rather a variation of a hand made bag that happens somtimes with Epsom Constances. Epsom is a stiffer leather that sometimes has difficulty bending into the structured but soft shape of the Constance flap. There is also a ‘pressure point’ right above the latch tongue where it is natural to push/hold down while lifting the latch in the opposite direction causing an unintended bend to the tongue. Mastering the technique of opening the bag without applying pressure will minimize this effect going forward. But if you are unhappy with the look, I’d take it to the store and see what they say or sell it and focus on other leathers next time.

I can see it and it would honestly bother me. Dents/bumps bother me the most on bags since I know this cannot be easily fixed with spa. I would bring it to the store to get checked.
