I'm looking to buy a new watch and have narrowed down my choices to four. I'd appreciate any input you ladies have! :D

(I don't know how to post photos, so I'll try to include links for some of them.)

1. Michele Mini Urban

2. Burberry stainless steel http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=309248&CategoryID=37943

3. Bulova diamond chronograph http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=123694&CategoryID=29170

4. Swiss Army http://sc7img.dillards.com/zoomImage.jsp?zoomDomain=sc7img&product=awl102

:ty:

It all depends on what you are looking for - Personally I rank the Swiss Army #4 out of the group (sorry if that is a favorite)
I like the Michele and the fact that you can change bands gives you the option of a "new" look whenever you would like!

I'm looking for an everyday watch, something that will hold up to my 'mom duties'. A watch I can use whether I'm dressed up a little or dressed down. I like hearing everyone's opinions. :smile1:

Wow I LOVE your choices. I literally was deciding between the exact same last three options you listed. I can't believe our similarity in taste. I honestly dislike that Michele watch....I don't like the numbers and don't think the style will be a "forever" watch (at least for me) and to me it's not really a draw to change bands, but I've heard a lot of people say that.

If you'd only posted your question a week earlier I would have told you to run to Nordstroms. They had the Burberry watch on sale for $265 and the Swiss Army one on sale for around $280. To me it's between those two watches. I like the look of the Burberry one (see my old thread with modeling pictures about it here http://forum.purseblog.com/the-jewelry-box/should-i-keep-this-burberry-watch-486737.html ), but I like the reliability and sapphire crystal face of the Swiss Army......it is also a better built watch from what I hear. Let us know what you decide!

Thanks everyone!

NurseAnn, our tastes are quite similar! My two favorites are the Burberry and the Swiss Army. Like you, I like the look of the Burberry and the saphire crystal and durability of the Swiss Army. I've been eyeing the Swiss Army for quite a while so that may end up being it. I did read your thread on the Burberry and it looks great on your wrist! I was kind of dissapointed I missed the big Nordstrom sale, but there's always another sale. Maybe by then, I'll have made a firm decision! Time to go try them on, I guess. Oh, and I'm a nurse, too! :D

Wow no wonder we have similar taste. I didn't post this my old thread but I actually ended up returning that Burberry watch. In the end durability won out for me. The links on it are beautiful and unique but also VERY shiny and I think they would have shown scratches and wear easier (same thing with the mineral crystal face). There are some shiny links on the Swiss Army one but most of it is brushed stainless. Also the Swiss Army is rated waterproof to 100m while the Burberry was only rated to I think 30m. I know the 30m is good enough for incidental water splashing from frequent hand washing but the extra 70m made me feel better. After looking at all the Swiss Army Vivante watches I actually ended up buying the one with the Mother of Pearl background. I'd show you pictures but it is still shipping. I think you'll be happy with the one you buy though. I've seen it in person and it looks great!

You're right about the shiny links, they would show more wear. I thought about that too. That's why I like the Swiss Army Vivante line better than the similar Alliance. The MOP watch you chose is great, it's the regular MOP, not the pink, right? I hope you'll like it. Did you manage to get it at the sale price? I'd love to see some photos once it arrives!!

I looked at the Alliance too. I'm getting the white MOP. I think it will be more versatile and I didn't get a chance to see the pink IRL. I will definately show you photos when I get it.

Though it may not be the prettiest or most popular, I do think I will end up getting the Swiss Army. I'm a practical girl and it will hold up to what I dish out, without me having to worry about it. :D

NurseAnn, please DO post photos once you get yours. I'll be looking forward to seeing it on you and hearing your thoughts on it!

As NurseAnn pointed out, make sure you go for something with a brushed stainless bracelet rather than polished. Polished metal show scratches so easily and quickly while brushed looks newer longer. I'd also like to point out that the mineral face on the Burberry is actually rather durable. I've worn my Burberry (not the one above but with the mineral crystal) pretty much everyday for the past 2 years and it still looks good!
