I can't see the pics (perhaps that's what is deterring others from answering). I always think it's better to download pics and re-post them so that people can see exactly which models are in question (both lines have so many variations).

I like the non-flap Marmont 'camera' bag and I like most of the Soho line (I have a Disco) both are pretty classic looking to me. Other models in respective lines I'm not so familiar with. I think Gucci are keeping a few colours of the SD for a while, they are still one of their best sellers.

From what I understand, the Disco line isn't being discontinued, just the seasonal colors. The staple colors (black, red, beige) will remain a part of the line. Both the Disco and the Marmont are lovely. I just think that the Disco is more classic, and the Marmont more transitional, The Disco has been out for about 6 years now already, and it's still going strong while the Marmont really just made it's introduction last year. You can't go wrong either way, but my vote is for the Disco!

It looks like you are choosing between the Soho leather mini chain bag and GG Marmont leather mini chain bag. Here is what I would consider:

Capacity: Marmont has double the card slots and 1 zipped compartment that divides the interior. This could be important depending on what you need to carry.
Chain: Soho has a leather piece that may make it more comfortable to wear. Some people find the chain to cause discomfort. Also Marmont has a longer chain than Soho.
Hardware: Marmont has a gold tone GG hardware on the flap. Soho does not have any exterior hardware and may be more under the radar.

Just talked to a couple of Gucci associates. The last shipment of Discos are coming in now. The Marmont is to replace them.

I believe there are conflicting reports from everyone's SAs (both from Gucci or dept. stores alike) about whether or not the Disco will be discontinued. I guess only time will tee!

Either way, the Disco is so wildly popular and more classic looking than the Marmont (and I love the Marmont), that I am sure we will continue to see them on the resale market.

Interesting about the Disco since I just saw they added the blue leather to the Gucci.com site and that wasn't previously there for several months

I saw that last night, too. I just found out at Nordstrom that they are being phased out. Two replacements: the Marmont and another I think is called, Linea. I saw the Linea today. Gucci boutiques in my area don't have it yet, but Nordies does. It's the same size as the Disco, but more structured w/ a "GG" embossed leather- little g's all over. A magnetized slit pocket in the front. Grey and black only right now. It's either $1100 or $1200. I forget. The interior is microfiber.
The SA and I agreed, it's an updated spin on the Disco, yet definitely classic. No tassel. Very streamlined.
The boutique SA said boutiques should have them by next week.

Is it me, or am I the only one who doesn't love the linea line? The focus on embossed logos seems like a throw back of the old Gucci, before their comeback. Designs like the Disco, Dionysus, Marmont, etc. we're refreshing and a move away from the old. Seems odd that they would pull in reverse versus moving forward...

over the matalasse marmont https://media.gucci.com/style/DarkG...0_0016_Light-GG-Marmont-matelass-mini-bag.jpg . i wasn't a fan of the antiquated GG logo on the marmont and just something about the bag overall i wasn't feeling. however, i saw the gucci marmont without the metalsse pattern (just the plain leather) https://media.gucci.com/style/DarkG...0_Light-GG-Marmont-leather-mini-chain-bag.jpg and i really like this bag. its VERY roomy and just a nice classic look overall, they didn't have red though so i cant say what the red leather would have looked like but the black and brown were very nice
