Hi there,

I recently bought a love and JUC bracelet regular size in yellow gold. I’m now looking to add a “jewelry” watch to my stack and it will be my first watch. I love the uniqueness of the Bulgari serpenti tubogas but also love the classic-ness of the Cartier panthere watch. For the life of me, I can’t pick which one I want to purchase as they are similar price point. I am looking to wear a watch everyday at work (corporate office job) as well as events (such as weddings, date nights, etc.). Can anyone help me make up my mind?

Thanks in advance!

I was thinking the same thing! I like the uniqueness of the Tubogas but had wanted a Panthere for quite some time. I got a Med SS Panthere back in November and don’t regret it.

It is definitely a more “classic” watch than the Tubogas so it will work well for work/everyday and I think the band is jewelry-like enough for nights out/dressier outfits.

I still love the idea of a Tubogas, but I feel it’s definitely more a “unique”/quirky piece than a Panthere.

Curious: are you looking at a YG/RG model or SS Panthere?

Oops! Sorry ignore my last Q. I didn’t see the photos you attached.

I will be the lone hold out for the tubogas  I’m 56 and remember the Cartier from the 1980s, when it was first popular. I just think the Bvlgari is simply more unique and special as both a watch and an item of jewelry. It is a classic for bvlgari. The house has done various renditions of the serpenti over the decades. And, I think it may be a bit more unusual. However, I would wear the watch on my left and the bracelets on my right. If you must combine watch and bracelets on one wrist, I vote for the panthere as a more cohesive, albeit more conventional stack.

I would not combine a JUC and Bulgari serpenti on one wrist, nor do I personally like to combine a love with a watch. There are of course arguments for both, so I do not think you can go wrong. Just follow your heart! For the magic of the tubogas, I chose a bracelet and I wear it both casually and in a more formal fashion. I can easily see the bvlgari you choose with either a suit and white tailored shirt or a tank top and ripped jeans. And while I don’t normally care for two tone, the black face and sinuous curve are stunning. One other thing, IMO only, the classic white metal panthere looks best without diamond chips as it is luxe sporty and the strong architectural look of Cartier watches is the link. JMO of course. There are no wrong answers to what you love

Note: If you bought YG Cartier bracelets, I think the Bulgari will also coordinate better from a metal perspective

Gorgeous, as usual!

Ooof tough choice! Both stunning. Both are iconic pieces of each respective brand and I believe, timeless in their own right.

The Bvlgari is more unique and not as many people have it. The Cartier, technically, is more "classic" due to the shape and band.
I have the Panthere, TT (WG + YG), medium and I love it. Wear it everyday, even to sleep. It's very comfortable.
I have heard that the Tubogas is also very comfortable as well.

If I was more into changing up my watches, I would strongly consider the Tubogas. (and I'm not into collecting watches and not wearing them) But that's easy to say because I already have the Panthere. :P
Sorry, I won't be voting on the poll. I think they are too different to make a decision. Unless of course, you will eventually get both and just want to decide on what to get first haha.

Have you gone in to try the pieces on? I feel that can be a big make it or break it moment in decision making.
TBH I never considered the Panthere until my husband pushed me to try it on. I had always thought I was going to get a tank. But when I put on the Panthere I knew it was the one!
Edit: eye candy for fun!

They are different enough to have both. Try both on, and consider which one you'll wear most and go for that one.

I voted Bulgari because, IMO the Serpenti does evening and occasion too, which is what you said you wanted, whereas the Cartier is too casual.

I voted for the Panthere. Mainly because I think it's a perfect everyday watch. Can be casual and dressy both at the same time. I'm not really a fan of the Bulgari because I feel like there's just too much going on, and I can't imagine wearing that daily. You can't go wrong with the Cartier.
