Ladies (and Gents),

I need help!!!!! I have been obsessing about finding the right back for far too long! I have a budget for $500 and ideally, would like a designer bag. After looking around for months I have found 4 options which are close to what I want.

My requirements:
1- Easily transitioned from a shoulder to a cross body bag - (I live in the city so I need it to work with jackets and shopping!! :graucho:)
2- Can't be too big for my body size - I am 5'2" and 125lbs.
3- Black.
4- Not too "young" I'm 30 so would like the bag to look sophisticated enough
5- Smart enough to go from work to an impromptu dinner after work.

My current choices include:
1. MK Hamilton - East/West in quilted black
2. Tory Burch - Amanda Pebbled Leather Hobo
3. Tory Burch - Amanda satchel
4. MbMJ - Classic Q Little Ukita Satchel

I would love your help deciding. Also, if any of you have these bags, input would be awesome!!!

I am putting up a poll - please vote!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
xx

All three of those bags would fit your descriptions up there. I think it would come down to what you like best and what bag characteristics you find useful (e.g. do you want a crossbody/shoulder strap, how much you tend to carry in your bags, etc).

@ linhhhuynh - Thanks!!

@supersaucy - I know! Thats why I am in such a dilemma. All four of the bags are around the same size and 3 of them have a cross body strap. Thats why I am reaching out to the folks on the forum. I am curious to see what people who either own any of the bags or have seen the bags IRL think, as well as the general aesthetic of the bags themselves. Thanks for your input. :)

Are you able to try these bags on? I think the Hamilton is gorgeous, but I hear it's a little on the heavy side. Also, the Amanda hobo is heavy. All are very nice and classic looking, but I think your decision would be easier if you could try them on.

I like the first one, MK and the MBMJ Ukita. I wish MBMJ would just have a hanging tag instead of that gold plate bolted on the bag! They are all good choices. I know I'm not helping. Perhaps choose the lightest weight one then you can't go wrong!!

I totally agree with you BgaHolic! I really do not like the plate with "workwear" typed on it. There is a new line that came out this spring called "preppy" and that doesnt have the gold plate. Am hoping they have a Ukita version of it.
Thanks!

I generally like MBMJ, and I was looking for little ukita too. My thinking when I decide against it was it does not hold shape very well, it is not even little bit structured. So if you need to put bag down it is not going to stand on its feet. The handle is nice and big so it gives advantage over Kors bag. Which I like but the chain make it tacky for me. I like both TB bags here.

I voted for the TB hobo. This is why.

I love MJ collection line but the name plate on the MBMJ just looks young and casual IMO, not sophisticated.
I LOVE the MK Hamilton however, I bought a MK bag (not the Hamilton) a few years ago and the silver hardware developed black spots and rust on it and I haven't used it since. It is possible they have improved their hardware in the last several years but I would be leary.
The Tory Burch hobo looks so cool, sophisticated, effortless yet so chic. That gets my vote.

I vote for the TB Amanda hobo as well. My reason is this:

I own the TB Amanda Satchel myself. Love that the leather is pebbled, soft, and easy to maintain without having to worry about nicks or scratches. However, it isn't as cute when worn as a crossbody because of the shape of it. I get many compliments on it and I like that the logo is only trimmed in gold and not (completely gold) like the logo clutches.

I own the MK Hamilton also and it is also a very easy to maintain bag without having to worry about it getting dirty or scratched. It is REALLY HEAVY and you can't put it on your shoulder and wear it as a shoulder bag. The bag doesn't hold great shape either unless you have a lot of stuff in it. The leather is more 'flimsy', which makes it feel softer. Hard to find things inside though because you're always digging.

The amanda hobo is the prettiest of them all and also can be worn as a work bag or just a casual everyday bag.

Wow! This is helpful. Thanks for weighing in alice87, fashion16 and chloe_chea !! :smile1: Am going to try the bags IRL this week and hopefully will pull the trigger. Just saw that Tory Burch has a new Amanda shopper on her website. Aah decisions decisions! :)

Hello there- sorry for the long hiatus. I am back in school and that is keeping me super busy.

I feel guilty but I didnt get any of the bags I listed. I saw all of them IRL and found them either too heavy or just not a good fit.

I am glad I waited a little though. I saved up some more and got the Louis Vuitton Neverfull mm in the Damier Ebene which I LOVE! (It is more subtle than the monogram)

I did change up my requirements a little...the LV is super light as well as a good transition from day to night.
I know isn't black but feels like a good neutral...

But....I am still looking for that prefect cross body.

Thank all of you for your input. It really did help with my final decision.
