hi abacohope! what price range are you looking at for jewellery?
btw cutest puppy ever!! is it a burnese mountain dog?

hi candace. at this point my price range is cheeeeeeeap. I have had to get 3 gowns, 2 cocktails, shoes for each and now jewelry and evening bags not to mention a tux for my kid from freakin Brooks Brothers - my husband doesnt even dress that well! all this and i am just a tshirt and jeans kind of chick. i have gone so far over my budget. ive actually considered fake pearls

the puppy is actually a greater swiss mountain dog - a cousin to the bernese. just shorter hair and a little bigger. shes just a big lazy dork

AntiqueShopper recently asked for help for a gift for her Mom on this forum. She ended up purchasing:

6-8mm Cultured Keishi Pearl Necklace With 7.25 ct. t.w. Multi-Gems In 14kt Yellow Gold

Item#: 487091
A glowing necklace featuring a double strand of 6-8mm champagne cultured freshwater Keishi pearls and 7.25 ct. tot. gem wt. smoky quartz and citrines. Necklace has 14kt gold beads and clasp.

I thought it was really unique and at $100, it is a good price too. I think it would look good with your gown. I tried several times to post a picture to no avail. Sorry. Please let me know what you think.

BTW, are you a yellow gold or white gold/platinum/silver gal?

I think that the Swarovski crystals would look much better with the metallic material than pearls. I love the first necklace in Antique Shopper's list and also the round, "bella" earrings (I have them in clear crystal and I get lots of compliments whenever I wear them).

Have a great time!

I agree that you should definitely leave the neckline bare. It's so beautifully draped and sexy without being over the top, while still being elegant. I would do some kind of drop or dangle earring and a bracelet or ring.
