Hello Ladies!

I just bought this Kate Spade bag, it's in used condition and I am planning to do a DIY project to dye it to Dark Brown/Chocolate color, I heard Tarrogo products are highly recommended and quite few tpfer have very successful dyeing their bags including bbags, I also remember there are two type of finish.
I do not have the bag yet since I just bought it online, attaching a pictures hoping can get some advise which Tarrago products to use so I can order online and will receive it around the bag arrive ;)

Well, I don't know about Tarrago, but as a person who works with leather and who dyes it (when needed), I use Fiebing's Leather Dye. I buy mine at Tandy Leather Company. You need a bottle of deglazer to remove any gunks and then you use the included dauber and the end result (for me) has been fantastic. I just recently refurbished an old Coach bag (in black). And I have a Hayden-Harnett project bag (in cocoa, or brown) coming up (this coming spring, when I can work on it outside). One thing about working with good leather products is you need fresh air ... <grin>

This Kate Spade looks like an excellent easy candidate for dying.

For instance, here's a link to the British Tan color at Tandy (if you are in the US you can do a search for 'Tandy Leather Factory' if you are in another country):

thanks for the info and link! i'll do some search for Fiebing's Leather Dye ;)

It might be a good idea to do a forum-wide search about Tarrago - many people have had problems, including peeling.

This is because Tarrago Self-Shine is a paint/coating and not a dye (even though it says it is).

It does not penetrate the leather, as a true dye should.

At least one leather professional has said she would not recommend using it.

yes, i did heard some of the DIY projects did have peeling results especially used TArrago products, i'll do more search and keep this post update ;)

thank you girls :hugs:
