This IS going to be a promise ring. We're not going for the generic "promise ring" category many jewelers have. Anyway, I've gone to numerous places and my girlfriend's ring size is DIFFERENT at almost all of these places! This eliminated us getting a ring online. We tried two different places that had size 5, and they were both different sizes. Jared's measured her at size 5.25, Kay measured her at size 4.5, etc. Its very weird.

Anyway what places sell rings for under $50 that look nice, but don't look like an engagement ring? We saw many but they look over the top, even while being fake diamonds and sterling silver, they're trying to mimic engagement rings. We don't want something with hearts, infinity symbol, etc. We just want a decent looking ring that has a stone or two that can be bought in store. Are there websites that tell if its available in store? We already had THREE rings bought that didn't fit, despite us getting exactly the ring size that we were measured for.

Not sure where you are, but James Avery has stores in a few locations across the US. They have nice silver and gemstone rings. Not quite $50, but not terrible either. Just about everything online can be bought in stores unless noted otherwise.

Check out Pandora and Thomas Sabo. Both have narrow rings in sterling silver that could be worn stacked between an engagement and wedding ring down the road. Best of luck!
