My SA has the new rectangular mini in red which is gorgeous and I like the color so much. But I am not sure if the rectangular mini will look too small. I am 5'2 and around 105 lbs. Not sure if I should go ahead and get the mini or save money for a more classic M/L CF. I also like the square mini and the easy flap bag, but they are so hard to find right now. Bye the way, I also heard that red CF is very easy to stain color on white clothes and requires very high maintenance. Since I don't have any experience on Chanel bag maintenance, can anyone give me any advice on my choice of first Chanel bag? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have some homework to do!

You should educate yourself about leather care before making the decision. $2900 is too much for a bag you may not like.

Red isn't prone to color transfer

I am 5'2 and I find mini fits me ok.

Easy caviar is coming out this season so do some homework and check out 2014 fall act 2 thread for colors coming out. There is also an easy caviar thread.

Here is a good thread to start

There is also caviar and lamb skin care thread that you can search and find on the forum.

The red is super gorgeous... It's a tough decision. I mean, everyone always says to get a Black CF or GST for your first Chanel. And it makes sense, but if you think you will be getting a black bag in the next year or so, why not get the mini now.

I have a black patent mini, i'm 5'10, and it doesn't seem too small. I can fit my iPhone, Blackberry, small hairbrush, sunglasses (no case), lipstick, mirror, keys, debit/id cards and a medium sized hairclip in it.

someone posted a black lamb square mini wht ghw in authentic finds page if you would like a square more!!!
I am 5'5, and I can defntly pull off a square even tho the chain is shorter than the rect.
If you see a mini in a color combination you like right now u should get it! you can always get a classic in black later on.

I made a post comparing the different sizes of small chanels, maybe you will find it helpful!

Thanks for your post! that is a great comparison! In your pics, the mini does not seems to be very small.

It's a pretty bag but size and price would be an issue for me as a first Chanel. Yes Chanel is overpriced but 2900 for a mini bag is ridiculous. I have a jumbo and was annoyed paying 4900 but at least it's a decent size and I use it frequently. I guess you need to think about if this bag will fit your needs or the M/L you mentioned. Good luck deciding😊

well it depends on your lifestyle
I chose mini is because I'm a super light packer, my everyday bag was the LV mini pouch. It already fits all my essentials, this new mini could fit in that mini pouch with some spare spaces.
Mini is definitely lighter than M/L which is a big plus, also personally prefer single flap.
Mini can wear crossbody which is very important for me,
so I chose mini over M/L

If you think M/L fits your lifestyle better, you should get M/L, it's too expensive to regret:smile:
BTW this red mini is stunning!
