I inquired about aquiring an exotic bag about how 6 months ago, and the only response from my SA has been that the request was sent to Paris, however no response from Paris. I typically ask for wish list items seasonally and don't "put on the pressure" to have all the items obtained. I stress the items I really want and my SA comes through for me. I have been a loyally customer and I spend six figures rather consistently over multiple years. The bag I inquired about has become available thru a well known and reputable seller in the secondary market. I purchase items in the secondary market from time to time, however these are typically pieces that are no longer available or items I buy on a "whim" (and thus were not on my wishlist).

Should I:

purchase the exotic from the secondary market?

wait and see if Hermes will ever fill the wishlist exotic bag? (my thought here is what if they don't and I miss out on a dream piece?)

what do I tell my SA??? I would feel like a cheater??

Thanks for the advice:) :)

You are clearly a valued customer for your SA and I doubt he/she would not want to loose you.
Your SA will know all too well that you want to buy something that is not easy to source.
Ask your SA for his/her opinion of the likelihood of him/her being able to fulfil your request in the immediate future.
If the response is 'Yes', you will have a serious decision as to whether you are to take the risk an wait.
If the answer is 'No', you can buy from another source with impunity.
Your SA should understand if you are honest with him/her; you have put a lot of business his/her way.
There is no way you should feel a cheater if you are honest.

I'm not sure I would explain what you are considering, because that smacks a bit of pressure.
I would hope that the bag would be genuinely pre-loved, not 'new' sold on at a premium.
Any SA might reasonably be uncomfortable with that.

Decided to cut my long story short. I was told by my SA no chance for exotic bag offers (the popular models) and so I went to a trusted reseller who has the bags I want and the premium is less than what I have to spend at H to MAYBE get offered a bag in the size/colour/croc that's turned down by someone else.

I still shop at the store because I do love their RTW although I stop by much less regularly these days and have no qualms carrying my other-wise sourced bags. My SA does ask where the bag is from and I say oh it is from my home country and leave it at that.

Tough one. I would ask the SA of the likelihood of your wish list item arriving and ask for a timeframe. Based on the answer, make the decision. If your SA says 6 months and he/she has been true to their word in the past, then wait. If no clear picture, go the reseller route. You can always say you were lucky to get it on travels. You don’t have to say that the travel was to the fedex store (or front door) to pick it up...LOL!!

Please be sure to post a picture!!!! Have fun....I am sure that it is a gorgeous bag!
