I know there have been posts talking about the colors of the smooth Gramercy satchel already, but I am having a hard time deciding what color I want to get based on what I already have in my collection so far. I would really appreciate opinions because I love that bag!

I initially liked the oxblood because I tend to go for brownish red tones in everything from bags to clothes. Then as I looked at the bag over time I also noticed how beautiful the red currant and black are. Unfortunately I can't see these in person because I don't live near a store that sells Coach :(

I already own the borough in oxblood, in vermillion red and in black. So I own bags similar, but different tones. I do not have many black bags, but I am not the kind of person that feels like they need many black bags since I think reds and colors like oxblood can act as neutrals. But the black is very pretty in the gramercy! I just don't want to get a black and then wish I had gotten a colored one.

I know from other posts that the oxblood is more brown than the borough oxblood and I am sure just by the names that the red currant is darker than the borough vermillion, but the photos of the gramercy make the red look like a true red to me and less of a deep red. But I don't know.

Sorry for the rambling, I am just so indecisive (if you couldn't tell :p) I just want to make the right decision as it is a hefty purchase for me.

Thank you so much!

I bought the large in black, and i think it looks amazing. I was originally going to buy it in the red current, but the red wasn't that vibrant in the gramercy, it was a little more dull, so I bought the crosby in the red current. My vote is for black or oxblood. or maybe the alligator?

Thanks! The more I think about what I usually wear and the colors I have I am now between oxblood and black I think. Th alligator is beautiful but it is just a little too pricey for me. Maybe in the future I will get red currant in a different bag where it is more vibrant.

The oxblood is beautiful but the black is timeless and classy and it really is a great bag for either color! I hate decisions!

I'm totally biased, but I think the red currant is the way to go. ;) The color really does seem a little more subdued ( or a shade deeper maybe? ) in the Gramercy as opposed to other styles, but I think it's still a really great red. It's definitely more of a true/cooler toned red than the Legacy Carnelian red, but I'm not sure how it would compare to the vermillion. If you are needing or wanting a true red, Gramercy would still work very well.
Gramercy in black is beautiful as well. I didn't need another black bag, but if I had needed a black bag with gold hardware, I'd have brought the black home.
( Oxblood would not have worked for me since it would clash with my wardrobe, but it's a nice color. )
I'm not much help...lol...sorry.

Thanks everyone for your input! It sounds like I couldn't go wrong with either beautiful color, it is just hard to decide because I am trying to figure out which one makes the most sense with what I already have. I don't want to get one too similar to what I already have and then wish I had gotten a different one. But it sounds like I have similar bags to each color so maybe it doesn't matter? haha I wish I could get them all!

I vote Oxblood, only because it's similar to my Brick Carlyle and I'm shocked at how easily that color integrated into my wardrobe.

I would get black, because you already have a good selection of red bags, and black is so easy to wear. Also I find it hard to find black bags that I love. So if the Grammercy is awesome in black, I would get black.

I find oxblood harder to wear. Sometimes it goes with warm tones like browns, sometimes it doesn't. I like the red currant, but I only have one bright red and one dark red bag, and those don't get out much. I think you might get tired of oxblood at times. Black is a good alternative.

If you could see them in person, you would know. Some bags sing in certain colors and look more contrived in other colors. I don't remember seeing the grammercy in either color, sorry. :shrugs:

I vote for Red Currant. I just bought the Taxi tote in red and was quite hesitant...now after a few days of carrying it, I'm glad I did buy the red currant instead of usual black. It's make my wardrobe pop up!
