Hi guys :D I'm trying to decide between these 2 necklaces to be my everyday signature piece:

Tiffany and Co. Elsa Peretti letter "L" pendant in 18K gold

or

Whiteflash's "XO" Diamond Pendant (0.25ctw) in platinum.

Can you help me choose one? :p I'm not so sure I'm a white metal or gold metal kind of girl either... Does anyone know how to do the color analysis that tells you what colors look good on you (in my case gold or white)?

I like the Tiffany one.
The Whiteflash one is nice, but I don't really care for attached pendants; I like my pendant to slide on the chain.

Usually, whatever color you are most attracted to is the one that will look best on you. If you like both colors equally, you are probably a lucky one that can wear both and look good!

Oo! They are both very beautiful!

I can't say which one would be better on you, but when I went shopping for my 'signature piece' I chose one that was not from an easily recognizable designer because I didn't want the possibility of seeing someone else with the same necklace.

I also chose yellow gold when all my other stuff is platinum or silver, but I love wearing it. I also went for diamonds since I don't have very many and I love the sparkle. :)

Of the two you posted, I really like the whiteflash necklace, but I would've preferred the pendant not be attached.

I am already biased against Whiteflash anyway due to past experiences with repeatedly poor workmanship, but in this case I just don't find that design appealing, despite it being in Platinum.

But I think the Tiffany one is lovely, though it might be much larger on the neck than you are really looking for.

I prefer the Whiteflash necklace. It is less identifiable, and the platinum will likely last better than white gold (I have a particularly acidic nature and plating on white gold comes off very quickly on pieces I wear daily). I do prefer pendants that are not attached, but I still prefer the Whiteflash piece.

As for white or yellow gold, much of it is preference. It doesn't matter what color analysis says if you prefer one over the other! But generally speaking, if you look good in warmer colors yelow gold will be more flattering. For many people, the difference is clearly apparent as soon as they put white gold or yellow gold near their skin. If you are lucky enough to be able to wear both well, then get it in whichever you prefer.

Thanks everyone who commented! I have to admit the Tiffany one is very pretty and the Whiteflash one seems to be too small and what really disturbs me is that the pendant is attached to the chain (like Kitsunegrl said). Since I find myself playing with the pendants a lot, making it slide around the chain whenever I'm bored, it'd not be quite suitable for me :p.

But I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull off the color gold. Does anyone know which metal color (gold or white) would look good on me?

I have black hair with dark brown eyes. I'm Asian but also a little bit white and pale (untanned areas so I guess natural color?) but I tend to look a little bit tanned, olive all year. I have blue AND green veins under my wrist (1st trouble, confused between COOL and WARM). I think I look good in navy blue, look washed out in pastel and my skin blend in with the color warm orange but still it looks OK (so maybe COOL?). But silver doesn't quite stand out that much on my skin?! I'm so confused.

:confused1:

^ Are you able to go into a Tiffany store to try the necklace on? The alphabet necklace comes in 18k yg or Silver. Try both and see which one you like more. But from your description it sounds like your skintone is neutral, you'll probably be able to pull off either one.
