Hi, folks! I’m torn between 2 very different rose gold necklaces: Bulgari Serpenti with rubies and Tiffany Daisy key. Please forgive that I’m still in pajamas! The only other rose gold necklace I have is a Tiffany bean, and the only other Bulgari piece I have is the rose gold Serpenti bracelet. Thank you for your help!

They’re very different. If you are truly unable to choose, perhaps there is a better one out there. I say that a lot, but I really mean it. If an expensive item doesn’t bowl you over immediately and knock the memory of others out of your head, it’s not right. That’s how I decide, when I am looking at something for myself.

I think the three dimensional quality of the bulgari is somehow more lavish, more abstract, and more mature; something that will better stand the test of time. The ring shape consists of Bulgari’s abstract serpent scales, which brings to mind, ouroburos or infinity. I like the serpenti the most of Bulgari’s modern collections. ive tried the other Bulgari designs, and while beautiful and feminine, they do not work on me personally or they remind me of duty free purchases, or both.

While I do like the fact that the key lies close and flat to the body, I am not all that enamored of the key motif. It’s classic and decorative, and the key symbolizes new beginnings, growing into a new stage, or even a literal key to the heart. As such, the key motif also happens to be a classic gift to someone to celebrate an achievement. I’m not a fan of such overt symbolism. (Although I do wear Foundrae pendants, which apparently are chock full of symbolism, I try to ignore all that bc I simply like the way they looked lol).

We are all different. Ultimately, you should follow your instincts. There is no right or wrong answer :D

I prefer the key as a necklace.

If you were looking for a necklace from Bulgari, I prefer the diva collection. I also think Bzero1 works better if you want a cylindrical ring, because it’s thicker and wouldn’t twist as much.

I agree that the Daisy key stays flat but personally I’d get bored with it pretty quickly.
There’s something enigmatic about the other pendant (Serpenti) and draws me in. The chain looks much better quality too.

I also very much agree with what 880 said, if you‘re undecided between the two perhaps none is truly that dear to you? Good luck and let us know what you decided!

Thank you for such a thoughtful response! I completely understand what you mean about the timeless quality of the Serpenti. I confess I didn’t think of the symbolism of the key beyond that it’s intricate and striking:-) (I also adore your jewelry collection and style, so your response means a lot!) So much food for thought!

Thank you! I actually was initially drawn to the Diva’s Dream!

Thank you! Yes, the chain of the Serpenti is a work of art in itself. And I do already have a strong affinity for the Serpenti design. Ah, decisions!

I want to echo these sentiments. Whenever I've had to choose between two items and could not, I have opted to leave both and wait for the one that will be an easy choice. The correct piece will shout "I'm yours!" and will be an easy decision.
Usually, if I am stuck between two and one is not swaying me over the other, it's likely because each has a flaw* that I'm subconsciously picking up on.
* Flaw meant not necessarily in the literal sense, but just meaning that *something* is not matching my personal taste and style, even if I can't put my finger on it.

They're both special in different ways, so whichever you choose will be great. However, if you find you're actually stuck, take a break and have a look around. Some other piece from a different house may leap out at you and speak to your soul.
