Hey ladies! I am new to MK. I have been dying for a E/W hamilton for some time now but was waiting for the 'perfect' color and I really wanted gold hardware. I thought when I saw the Navy I was 100% sold, but just saw one at Macy's in Ocean and its 25% off. Now I'm confused. I LOVE both and the Ocean would be a great deal, but worried that it may look funny come fall/winter. Would the Navy be a smarter purchase since its 'seasonless'?

I'm actually not much of a fan of the ocean and I'm not sure why, it's just never done it for me. I am using the navy today and it's really stunning and timeless. I do fear that the ocean is a more trendy color. I'll never choose buying something just because it's on sale over something I love either - in the end I don't think that usually works out.
I agree with chrissy11, the navy is a classic. So is the Hamilton, so it won't feel dated as quickly. I have the indigo n/s shw and I really love the color. It's great with jeans, just a great neutral color that isn't black for a change. I also feel that buying just because it's on sale tends to leave me unfulfilled. I would rather buy what I really want and just enjoy the heck out of it! Good luck!
I agree - I'd choose the Navy. As already said, it is definitely a classic color and style handbag. I've done the buy a bag because it's a great deal before. It's definitely not worth it, buy what you love and you will love it forever. I find when you like a bag and love the deal, you can fall out of love with it rather quickly and then the deal wasn't so great afterall. JMO. Let us know what you decide.
Go for the Navy. You should call up some other Macy's and see if they have the Navy and can do the 25% off for you. Otherwise, I would be willing to pay full price for that bag. The gold hardware is hard to find on Hamiltons but it looks stunning!
I settled for a Hamilton that I found on sale. Its a mocha brown and gorgeous but deep down inside, I wanted that gold hardware. While I love the bag to death, I will still be on the search for a Hamilton with gold hardware that I love.

Thanks guys for your input! I decided to order the Ocean one since there were very few left and it was on sale at Macy's with a good return policy. Plus my friend said the ocean blue reminded her of the Hermes blue, which I think is what appealed to me. My local MK store is under rennovation until the 10th, so I think I'll take the Ocean one in and do a side by side comparison with the navy to know for sure. Thanks again!
Just a quick update. Got the Ocean Hamilton in the mail today and not a huge fan. I had only seen that color in smaller bags/wallets and in the larger bag I think its going to be harder to match with my work wardrobe. So now I am debating between the Navy with GHW or classic Black with GHW (my Macy's has one left!). I don't have any navy bags but black seems more 'practical.' Decisions, decisions.
I have the navy with GHW and the black with SHW and love them both. I understand what you mean about the ocean color and I'm not surprised.
The navy won't be around forever, whereas I'm sure as long as Hamiltons are being made, black will be available - although maybe harder to find with gold hardware.
I'm personally LOVING the navy. I've been using it every day and just can't switch out to another bag. The shade of blue is so gorgeous and with the gold hardware, it's STUNNING.
The black may be more versatile and wearable, but the navy is just so freaking gorgeous.

Crissy11, your post was the reason I even considered a blue bag in the first place! It looks so amazing on you! But my coloring is so different - mocha skin with dark brown hair - so not sure the navy is as flattering on me as you. Such a good point abt being LE though. I'm going to have a final looksie tomorrow and hopefully make a decision. Or just give up! I have some pics of both bags. Will post soon for an opinion.
Is that gold hardware??????????? I thought that color only came with silvrer hardware. You know it does look pretty. . . . .

Of course it's just GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously though, it does look great on you. Do YOU like it better than the ocean color? The ocean color in your picture looks nicer than other pictures I've seen though.
