So i have been working hard and will receive a promotion and also it is my birthday: three reasons for an nice new bag.
I have the penelope from longchamp which I love (!) - but I can only take it with me when I take the car as you can't wear it over the shoulder and I walk a lot. Also I can't take her with me when it rains....
I have a Hobo Bag from MCM which I wear everyday and receive a lot of compliments but doesn't fit a Laptop (me always carrying two bags - one for the Laptop and the nice bag). What I would like would be a shoulder-Bag or Tote that is elegant and can be closed.

I like the look of the sac du jour of YSL, the Belt Bag of Burberry, the Antigone from givenchy and the old milla from MCM. All of them are for me to bulky at the bottom so they are not useful when worn over the shoulder. But I like the designs. What I did like a lot was a Kate Spade Bag called carolyn: https://eu.katespade.com/de-de/große-carolyn-schultertragetasche/PXRUA492.html?dwcolor=967#start=1 but I'm not sure whether it is enough of a treat in terms of the three reasons above...

i also like the Mademoiselle from Longchamp but it is not suitable for my Laptop...

I would be very happy about any suggestions! The pricerange should be somewhere between MCM and YSL I think...

Thank you!

Longchamp Le Foulonné has a nice tote with a computer pocket. Furla also has several great styles.

BTW, your Pénélope doesn't mind the rain if you've taken care of the leather. If you like the style, LC also has a Pénélope document holder which has a shoulder strap.
Wow, thank you - I haven't considered the Foulonné, I will look at it, it looks great.

If you are open to vintage maybe check out lv lusaac tote or madeleine tote

I now fell down in a rabbit hole of vintage LV: I always thought about LV as too 'logo', but theses are really elegant. Especially the lusaac looks great...

How about the YSL Manhattan tote? The bottom is a lot slimmer and still looks good when worn on the shoulder with the included strap, and the smooth leather and clean aesthetic looks gorgeous!
Also a great suggestion, I am not sure about the gold hardware but I will look at it in the shop. The clean design does look good.
Thank you all, I will write what I tried out!

If you want weather proof leather that you can basically drag across asfalt with no damage, Le Foulonné is just perfect!
I remember trying out the Foulonné a few years ago but I looked a little old with it. I think they redesigned it and I will give it a try.
Also I guess they discontinued the madeleine which was also on my watchlist...

So I was at LV to look at the Epi Leather - somehow I don't like it so much. The Handbags in the store were all very logo-ey...The I went to Saint Laurent. The Manhattan Tote is very nice but the big one has no shoulder strap. I also tried the soft sac de jour but it didn't look good on me. I then went to Longchamp, somehow this is my label. They told me about a new Bag that will be released tomorrow, voyageuse. I will go there tomorrow because the pics looked great...
Thank you all! Also La Foulonné looked great. I think about taking it with a seperate shoulder strap...

I know the feeling - if Longchamp is your thing, it is! Please tell us what you end up getting, with pictures! :happydance:

I was at longchamp for the voyageuse and I really think, the new bag is a stunning design. It is somehow a rock-chic but also very elegant. For me it was too heavy. I then found a nice Laptop bag at Aigner but still it will be too heavy for me with a shoulder strap. So I am kind of back to square one: I think I will just look for a nice bag that I love and if it fits a laptop I will take it with me when I take the car...
Thank you all for reading and answering :-)

I'd say invest in the Sac De Jour or the Antigona, they're both classic styles and will go with so many outfits. Have you considered a Celine? The belt bag or the mini luggage tote are both great bags and very classic. Celine bags are fantastic quality and really wear well.

Did you take a look at the LC Le Pliage Cuir? It weighs next to nothing.
Then there's always the backpack route. There are very chic choices to choose from!

I will wait for a while and stop searching. I am at a point where I can't tell the difference anymore. But I think I will stay in the three-digit-price range. My last bags all 'came to me' somehow, so I think this will happen again. Thank you :-)
