Hi all,

Tried searching for this but couldn’t find a thread dedicated to this question. I recently bought a book tote and am getting it personalized with my name. I can’t decide between spelling out my first name (which I think is the more Dior way) or just do my initials (3 letters, without periods in between - which is the more classic way). Thoughts?

Would also love to see yours.

This is the one I got:

I personally prefer spelling my name out fully instead of initials, although I would keep the name on the side of the bag that is closer to me because I don't want random strangers knowing my name.

I never inquired about this, but I wouldn't mind using an alias, although I don't think they allow that (not sure) in case some customers put words on their bag that do not agree with Dior's image.

My understanding is you have to ask your SA to obtain approval for the specific personalization from dior. If you want your full name, alias, etc. you should ask. If it’s a choice between initials separated by periods or initials only, I prefer the latter. JMO. DH thought this would be cute. My SA also loved it and got it approved. Limit is seven characters including spaces (I think about 250USD) for personalization on a size medium around the world embroidery Lady Dior. Its obviously much smaller than a book tote, so perhaps they allow more characters on the latter?

That’s exactly it for me - I’m not sure if I want everyone to know my fully first name, especially considering that I will likely use this tote while traveling (whenever travel makes a comeback). The initials feels more comfortable, but it feels like I’m going against the ethos of this bag’s personalization!

Hi ladies! Sorry to bother you on a relatively old thread but I’d like to know your opinion on this: do you think I would be able to get a lady dior d-lite personalised even if I buy it second-hand? Or is it a service offered only at the moment of the purchase and/or when you buy a bag directly from a boutique that offers this service? TYA

My understanding is that it has to be purchased from a boutique. It will send to NY for the personalization. You don’t have to personalize at the moment of purchase, any time after should be fine as long as they still offer the service.

Apologies for bringing up an old thread but would love to see and hear what people decided to add on their bag? I am struggling to decide but want to do something as I don’t love it being blank. Anyone put just their surname?

Why not? I will consider putting PG28 on my next Book Tote. I did my personalisation when it was first offered a few years back, in London. My Walk'n'Dior sneaks have just my 2 initials, (each side is different) but that's due to space limitation.
