I've been a fan of the Mytheresa site but had never before purchased anything. On Tuesday of this week I purchased a handbag. It was sent out for shipping by DHL on Wednesday. Between the time I purchased it on Tuesday and the time it shipped on Wednesday the bag was reduced $200+ on their website.

I asked Mytheresa for a price adjustment because I hadn't even received the item when they dropped the price, but they would only offer a future store credit. I wasn't interested in a credit because I don't plan on buying anything else for a while. They then told me I could return the item for a refund and purchase it again. This seemed like a complete waste of time since at the end of the day I would still have the same handbag but at the redcued price- so why not just issue a price ajustment? They refused.

I decided to reject the shipment (it was a signature required delivery) which means the item will be shipped back to them at their cost. Thus, it will now cost them $$ to get back an item that they can only resell at the discounted price anyway- in the end this would be more costly to them than simply adjusting the price for the bag I purchased. Of course, it's their decision but this seems like bad judgment to me.

Naturally this must be frustrating for you, but to refuse and shipment and cause headache is rude. I've been in this situation and would never refuse a shipment. I would be fine with a store credit.

It's like these days, people cannot think for themselves. Customer service people are drones, reading scripts and reciting policies that sometimes aren't "one size fits all".
To even suggest that you return/re-buy is ridiculous, and I think refusing the shipment was absolutely the right thing to do and I don't fault you one bit.

Additionally, I would call and speak to a manager and let them know that their policies are causing them to lose sales.
