I've worn my camera bag about 10 times in the last one year (just under a year ago purchased at Saks). I was looking at it today to examine the wear and tear and I'm horrified to find this... while the body of the bag is perfectly fine, the leather on the handle is turning black and breaking apart. Has this happened to anyone's camera bag before? I have never over stuffed it, just a phone, small card holder, keys. I thought this bag will last me years but it's falling apart so quickly. I plan to contact YSL but I doubt I'm going to receive help for leather issues from what I've been told in the past. Just wanted to share my experience & disappointment with this bag.

Update for anyone who might be going through the same problem. Contacting YSL customer care was a waste of time. Based on the photos, they blamed the cracking of leather on "external factors" and not at all on faulty quality. Unbelievable, this bag has barely been used. I wrote back that I was able to find similar cases online and it in fact is a problem with the quality of this bag in particular. I have yet to hear back.

I got in touch with Saks and the manager was super nice and understood the issue and is willing to help me out. So definitely better to contact the store directly instead of bothering with YSL customer care.

Ugh! I've seen a few videos of people complaining about the glazing on this bag. I think I've seen maybe 3 videos where YSL fixed it but the only one I remember where they didn't purchase directly from YSL was this one.

Have you ever come across glazing problem on the Loulou line?
No problems myself but I haven't had them too long. I have a few loulous. 1st loulou I have only had about 8 months--but I honestly have never used it ever because it is a light colored suede. 2nd loulou I have had about 6 months and is holding up great. I do not remember any videos about glazing issues with the loulou. I would guess a loulou might eventually have issues by the D rings and where edges curve and where edges meet though.

This happened to my bag. YSL repaired it. I sent it to the store in Las Vegas and they sent it out for repair and I had it back within a week. They sent me a shipping label and shipped it back to me as well. I was really upset but this ended up being my most used YSL bag. The repair has held up. It's been about 3 years or so now. I bought the bag in 2019.

My SA said he's had people come in with this problem for the camera bag but not the Loulou. So fingers crossed!
