Here's a long story, but I hope you will bear with me.
I made my way to the ATL Hermes boutique today and had a great time. I was telling the SA''s about my Chanel incident and they were all just appalled. So then my favorite SA helped me find a nice twilly to put on my kelly. While we were talking, she said that it was about time they found a birkin for me.
Yay!
So I said casually that I really wanted one, but was unable to find one. So she began asking what colors I might want. As we talked we headed back to the counter. She said that she would keep me in mind. Then she smiled and said "well, just in case I'm not here when it comes in, I'm going to put you on the list."
Clearly I was beyond excited at this point. And so she asked what size I mght want...I told her that I thought maybe a 30 or 35. She smiled again, said that she would probably suggest a thirty. And that she would suggest tangerine for the color. Then...she said "we have a fuschia ostrich birkin in the back...would you like to try and see if you like the size?"
Of course I said yes. She explained that they couldn't keep it on the floor so it was in back. When I saw it, I fell totally in love.
But I had to think about it. And I left the store and headed for Alabama where I'm spending a few days in Birmingham.
Well, I thought about it and took the plunge...
Soooooooo I called her back and put it on my card.
Which means that yes! I am the owner of a birkin. My very first one. To help save on taxes, they are going to ship it to me when I get back home to NC next week. I CAN'T WAIT.
