I recently received this bag and I loved it at first sight but upon close inspection I felt like the flap looked weird for this small compared to my black CF in small caviar .

Am I the only one who feels that way or does it look normal to you?. I love the colour so I don’t want to sell or return it (past return policy ). Given Chanel ‘s recent qualitt issues this most likely will be the only bag I buy from them in a long time.

It got posted before I could finish. But here is the thing I love this colour and lusted over it for months so when I saw it at my local store I couldn’t think. Now that I have it..I am bit sad with how the bag looks compared to my other small.

Question is it possible to just ignore it. I know recently quality isn’t up to par. My ghw that I recently purchased has started to discolour (can be fixed but still) so unfortunately I am just burnt out I guess

The flap looks a wee bit tilted to one side... but ever so slightly... not something you can unsee - but, in my opinion, also not something to be fussed about. The colour is stunning!

I once purchased a flap that had a corner that wasn't "rounded" - one corner was a bit angular. But I knew it when I was in the store before purchasing & didn't ask to change it. I guess because to me, that was my bag's "fingerprint". How mine is different from other flaps of the same colour & size and that I could probably identify it in a line up!

So, no, you can't ignore/forget it. But aside from outright defects, maybe accept it for its uniqueness?

ETA: also could be the way the straps have been stored; tucked to one side of the bag?

I also see that it's slightly slanted but I've seen a lot worse. Since it's already past your return window and you love the color, you should enjoy it. She is a beauty! Both my classics have something off about them, I still love them and accept it as their unique characteristic.

Also, my gold hardware is changing colors too within 7 months of owning it. Wasn't expecting that!

I notice it more in the first picture, but none at all in the second picture, so I guess you will notice it on and off.

But 22K Dark Pink the the prettiest pink imo. I have the WOC and every time I look at it it just makes me smile. No other color does that! :heart: :heart: :heart:

Once you start wearing it, and start stuffing the bag, I don't think you'll notice it that much. Enjoy!!!

I think it’s really hard to compare to a black classic because they are finished in a different way with edge stitching which looks overall better. Personally for a seasonal caviar flap it looks normal to me - I have many classics as I collect the colours and they all look slightly different season to season in terms of structure shape and caviar quality. I suggest to start using it and seeing how it makes you feel especially if you love this colour. For hardware oxidation I suggest getting a little humidity monitor from amazing and checking the humidity in the room. If it’s high then a dehumidifier can help protect the bags from oxidation imo

The colour is so Barbiecore but the flap is the issue. I am still 50/50 atm. I found a wallet from same colourway on so maybe i might keep that and sell this one lol

Omg!!! I am sorry to hear that! I experienced the same with my black CF with ghw. The hardware started changing within 5 months of purchase. I was able to fix it as it was very small and sell it. Ghw was always my dream CF but now I am on the hunt for CF in shw. Btw if you don’t mind what is off about your classic flaps ?

I love your woc! I am eying a 22p dark pink woc atm but only if I can sell my cf haha

I agree you’re right ! I have been using the bag for a month and still feel 50/50 about it. I saw a woc in the same colour . I wish I had waited and gotten that instead . The colour makes me feel so happy but the flap makes it seem like bad batch or a fake

I think that’s it…for the price we pay I expected better but ah all it’s a choice we make right ?? . I love the colour too! It’s lightens up my mood haha

Well, the beige clair has a slightly crooked turnknob and also tarnishing. I can get this replaced or adjusted when I'm ready. On the other one.. the flap is bent sort of squarish and not curved like most are. Little details that I can't help from noticing, but still adore them regardless!

The unevenness is fixable but the bag has slight issues with the 2 lines across the front flap. It looks “bumpy” across. LV’s Favorite had that bent look across.

It’s the cardboard (or whatever material they use ) they put inside of the leather - it was bent or something makes the leather “hug” those lines.

Chanel are Chanel.
