Hi guys!! This is a review on the clinics i went to for (primary) rhinoplasty consultations in Korea :) i’ll explain why I chose these few clinics and how I made my final selection.

I’m a 22 year old female and i’ve never had anything done to my nose before, but I’ve always had an issue with my bulbous tip and the low height of the start of my nose bridge, so I ended up deciding to get it fixed after years of contemplation. I’ve done a lot (A L o t) of research, looking through forums, watching korean plastic surgery Q&A’s, vlogs, read up medical studies, etc. I think it’s important to familiarise yourself with how the surgery works so you have a better understanding of why different doctors will suggest different procedures and steps.

Also it’s really important you find and choose a doctor for your surgery (this applies to all surgeries) and not the clinic, because a lot of those big and “reputable” clinics tend to swap out doctors often, or their skilled doctors leave to open their own clinics etc.

My initial choices

  • Aura (Dr Joo from ilac decided to open his new clinic called Aura)
  • Hivom (Dr woo kyoung sik, his before and after pictures looks good and he frequently does patients with bulbous tips)
  • Eight Ps (Dr Kim HanJo, I liked his B/A pics too so I had him saved)
  • Miho (Dr Yoon)

Clinics I ended up booking a consultation with

  • Nplus (only has one doctor and he is an ENT specialist)
  • Aura
  • Eight
  • Luho
  • BT
  • Wonderful plastic surgery (I only had an online call with them)

Wonderful plastic surgery was the only clinic I didn’t do f2f meetings with and I only had an online consultation with them. I had them scheduled as my first consultation as a foundation of sorts, so i could prep myself for the following f2f consultations 😂. They suggested I do a silicone implant for my bridge, rib for my tip and alar reductions for my bulbous tip and quoted me around 8-9 mil won. They seem more foreigner orientated (maybe that’s why the quoted me so much for a primary rhino) and I decided not to go with them because it’s out of my price range (4-6 Mil).

So I had back to back physical consultations with Nplus (9.30am) and Luho (10.30am), and these are the only two clinics that don’t have English interpreters, so I had to hire my own!!

I was trying to find good English interpreters on purseforum but some reviews said the more popular interpreters are a bit scammy and dodgy? But I managed to find the sweetest translator and her name is Selena! She really helped me a lot and she’s so lovely! (She charges 50,000 per hour and I booked her through KKT)

DAY 1

NPLUS:

I met up with Selena at the lift lobby of Nplus’s building and we went to sign some forms for the consultation. The consultation itself went pretty smoothly (Doctor suggested silicone + rib + alarplasty) and the consultant quoted me 3.5 mil. (They were running a discount during this season so I was pretty lucky to get this price, especially with an ENT certified doctor) the doctor also seems really confident in what he can do :)

Their consultation fee was 10,000 kr won!

LUHO:

Selena and I ubered down to Luho for my consultation (I was slightly late but they were super nice about it) the doctor (head doc) essentially said almost the same thing as Nplus! (Alarplasty + hump reduction + correct my deviated septum + tip projection) The consultant was super friendly and they quoted me 3.8 Mil :) they ended up being my top 2 choice! We really wanted to secure the 3.8k offer so we put down a deposit just in case!

No consultation fee

AURA:

Went for the consultation later on during the day, they had a super clean environment and staff was also very friendly. Their consultant spoke okay english and we went to take profile pics & ct scans for the consultation. Waited for the doc for around 10 mins and he came in to explain his steps. Dr Joo was really detailed in explaining his process and he was the first doctor to mention that he’d pull out my columella to prevent my nose from looking too “piggy”, and he also didn’t suggest me doing an alarplasty because the height increase in my bridge would already make my alars look smaller. He also explained to me which mm of silicone he would use (3-4mm) and showed me the pieces himself. Overall he was very detailed, but I felt like I wasn’t on the same page as him and he seemed super busy? It was just a personal feeling and i think that it’s important you are able to connect with your surgeon (since he’s doing your surgery after all). But i heavily recommend him! (He’s also super popular amongst locals and Japanese!) They quoted me around 8mil kr won :)

No consultation fee also.

DAY 2

EIGHT PLASTIC SURGERY:

Arrived at the clinic just on time despite the heavy rain and was greeted by their front desk. One of their front desk employee studied in Singapore before and could speak English! They also have an in house english and thai translator who was super lovely. She explained things well and took good care of me throughout the consultation :) they were the only clinic who didn’t take my ct scan and profile shots before the consultation with the doctor (which i found surprising). The consultation with Dr kim went super well since he’s able to speak fluent english.

[Something to note: He was also the only doctor who sent me voice recordings through whatsapp before our physical meeting when i asked him questions about my nose and he sent me what he thought! (Usually clinics just reply through text and the doctors themselves don’t communicate with you personally)]

What stood out for me was the fact that he informed me about surgical complications and how every person is different and their bodies might react differently to this surgery! He also said he cannot promise 100% perfection but he will make my nose as close as he can to my reference pictures! He basically laid out all the risks for me, and I really liked this part about him because it reassured me a lot :’D! Dr Kim also asked me if I was okay with silicone, and he made sure we were on the same page the entire time about what I wanted! He also made sure I understood why I should use rib instead of ear for my nose tip. He also showed me a bunch of his before and after pictures, asked me questions and guided me through how he would change my nose! Out of all the clinics I consulted, they were the only clinic that had the option to do a 3d printed silicone implant to fit my face (and this was especially helpful bc i have a deviated septum. Dr Kim suggested I do to fix my deviation instead of doing septoplasty since I had no breathing difficulties)

They quoted me 6.5k after discount.

No consultation fee :)

BT:

We went down to BT as my last consultation! I arranged all my consultations from least to best clinics (that I wanted to do) and was looking forward to BT the most because of the overwhelmingly good reviews on purseforum. When I arrived at the clinic, I realised I made a mistake because I came a day earlier LOL,, But Grace was super accommodating and arranged a consultation for me regardless :’D The consultation with doctor Ho was also extremely detailed! I realised that the doctors in my top 3 clinics almost had the same detailed explanations. Since I was looking for something within my budget (3-6mil) BT was way over the top for me (11mil ish).

Which Clinic I Ended Up Going With:

After narrowing down to Luho and Eight, I ended up chosing Eight despite it being slightly out of my budget, due to how comfortable I felt with Dr Kim. We settled on a surgery date (put down a 10% deposit) and I paid the remaining amount on my surgery day.

I’m currently 10 days post op and i’m very satisfied with my results! :D yays btws this post is not sponsored and I did not receive any discounts from writing this review, I just wanted to give back to the community that has helped me on my ps journey :D

Thanks for the review. I found it really in-depth and informative. I'm surprised the prices vary so much. I'm going to get consults at some of the clinics you mentioned and I've also been in contact with Selena so it sounds like im going to be going on a similar journey to you.

I hope you're recovery has been ok and I hope you love your new nose as swelling continues to go down. Please keep us updated on your journey. 🙂

Was that 6.5k including your own rib??

Hi, congratulations on your rhino journey! Hope you are recovering well and I look forward to you updating this space soon. In the meantime, could you share with me Selena (your translator KKT) please. Thank you!

Hey! How is your healing going? Do you like your results??
Hi!! Healing’s going great! I felt no pain in my nose during recovery which was fantastic! (I was also able to breathe fine right after the surgery because they didn’t put cotton stuffing up my nose!) But my rib recovery hurt a bit (6/10) it felt like i did a super intense ab workout and was really really sore haha. rib pain subsided after the 2nd week! I love my results bc the doctor gave me exactly what i asked for!! (I wanted a nose that was more defined rather than natural) i’m currently 9 weeks post op and here are my results! (There’s still a lot of swelling and the doc said it’ll go down in about 6months - a year)

you look so good, such a significant change! do you know if dr Kim is an ENT?
Thank you! Dr Kim is not an ENT (ENT doctors only specialises in ears, nose, throat, hence ENT) surgeon, i believe he also performs breast augmentation! Actually I was only going to go for ENT doctors in korea, but after consulting different ENTs, I still found Dr Kim to be the top choice (mainly because he made i knew exactly what I wanted and got on the same page as me) :D
