I picked it up from the jewelers a few days ago, and I really like how it came out! The diamond was my mother's engagement stone, so it means a lot to me :smile1: I included some pics...please excuse the blotchy skin...I had a little mishap with the sun.

The one thing that is preventing me from being totally in love, is that the pendant turns to the side quite a bit. Is there a way I can stop this? I have a feeling that it's something I'm just going to have to accept, but figured I should ask you girls for help before I give in.

Also, what do you think of the chain? I purchased the cheapest one (least amount of white gold) because chains aren't all that important to me. I like the chain itself...but in some pics I've taken, the chain looks too dark next to the white of the diamonds. Yet in other pics, it looks perfect. Sooo I'm basically looking for reassurance that it looks okay. Or feel free to tell me that I should get a new chain!

Wow! It's beautiful, and the chain is just perfect. I'm not sure about this, but maybe changing the pedant's setting to a lighter (or heavier?) one could help.
I hope that was useful.

It's really beautiful. I believe that if the chain was heavier, it would keep the pendant from moving around. Try a heavier chain that you might have around the house and see what happens. Pretty sure this will solve the issue. Enjoy you family heirloom.:love::love:

Your basket narrows towards the base, and the back of the bail sticks out quite a lot. I think those two factors, and not the chain, are what's making it twist. I'd try to be sure that the back of the bail didn't stick out further than the basket: I'd bet that's the issue.

That said, GORGEOUS pendant! I absolutely adore pears. That one has a wonderful shape, and it looks ENORMOUS on you. Do you know what the stats are, by any chance? Pure curiousity ....

A chain that thin snaps very easily (as in, wrap your finger around it and tug and it'll split), so be aware of that...

I always recommend a sturdier chain for more expensive pieces.

ITA the base isnt wide enough, and perhaps they built the basket up too much? if it cutlet of the diamond was right at the base of the basket it probably would flip as much....but it sure is pretty!!!:D

I wish I knew what you both were talking about, but I actually have no clue! This was my first time "custom" making a piece, and I just kinda told them how I wanted it to look. I know nothing about baskets and bails.

I'd appreciate if one of you (or both of you!) could PM me to help me understand! Thx!

Hekate - the diamond is 1.94 carats and G color.

And thank you to everyone for your nice comments :smile1:
