I've always wanted a bezel set solitaire....in 18k yellow gold AND platinum. I really like both. This was supposed to be in the 'wow, I got a bargain!' category, though, so 18k yellow gold it is.
Diamond Specs:
GIA Excellent cut, Excellent polish, Excellent symmetry
Color: E
Clarity: SI2
Carat: .42
I've never owned an SI stone before, so I was a bit nervous. However, it was a bezel setting, and Blue Nile offers a 30 day return policy. I have sharp eyes, and I can't see anything from any angle, unaided. I pulled out a 10x magnifying glass and hunted around. With that, I could see the inclusions--all clear/white, and not too bad. The necklace is very beautiful, and I'm thrilled. The price was amazing for the quality. Re: E stones in yellow gold.... The whiteness of the stone is very obvious, even against the yellow gold, and there is such a beautiful, stark contrast. I've put them next to my E color engagement ring, and E color studs, ( E is my sweet spot) in different lighting. In some light, they look identical, and in other lights, the gold reflects and makes the necklace stone look a tad more....gold. The bezel is open in the back, so it really all depends on the light. All in all, I love it it! I've included a pic with my E color studs for comparison, (if you're a diamond geek like me--I get into this stuff) but I don't think my non pro camera really shows the true appearance. Enjoy!
