Thank you Odedihaims. Honestly, i was just browsing and it jumped out at me (The little Diva)!!! When I looked closely I saw it was an automatic with an exhibition back and I was a goner. With the sleek low profile and pyramid links on the band and the super sparkly diamonds I almost couldn’t breathe.
I barely slept then ran back to the store. It was the last one so I got 10% off. I understand the newest iteration of the viii is out. This was brand new wrapped never even been tried on so I knew it was for me.
I’ve never seen anyone with it ever but don’t care.
Super happy!!!

Congratulations on your stunning new watch! And nice discount, too. I have the ceramic automatic Dior VIII and it is my favourite watch! The pyramids really make the ceramic scintillate when I rotate my wrist.

The Dior VIII line is considered a permanent line, but they certainly don't seem to produce the core line anymore except for exceptional pieces such as the Grand Bal versions, and now their customized Haute Couture versions. They are making the La D de Dior Satine, as I still see that at all the boutiques while the VIII is almost a rare find there.

Thank you for that info. I am a new convert to Dior! Just superlative quality. Gorgeous finishing and beautiful all around. Couldn’t be more thrilled.
Would love to see your ceramic.
And ...any idea why I’ve never seen a Dior watch out IRL?????

A few members' VIII watches are pictured here, including mine: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/dior-viii-timepiece-pictures-only.918686/

Dior's market share in the watch world is not large, and they occupy a unique niche now where their watches are very selectively distributed, inspired by Haute Couture (more emphasis on Grand Bal and exceptional pieces), and have a high average price point as they blend features of high jewelry. The latter wasn't the case before. Dior watches have had a long history with collaborations decades ago with Bulova. They were a fashion watch brand (much like Gucci watches), until they moved upstream and into the Haute Horlogerie world under their former watches and jewelry CEO Laurence Nicholas. This meant the watches started coming with unique complications (movements) and high jewelry standards. For years, the 3 successful lines were Dior Christal, Chiffre Rouge, and La D de Dior. Then the Dior VIII was introduced, followed by the Dior VIII Montaigne, and both were successful. Recently, the La D de Dior Satine line has been the focus as their core "entry-level" watch, although even that carries a high price tag.

Their watches continue to be innovative. Each year, they still release several very high-end pieces, with many of them being one-of-a-kind.

Wow! Thank you averagejoe those are jaw-dropper watches for sure! And thank you for the info on the movement. I just checked out the viii thread you directed me to and adore everyone’s pics. I agree with everything ppl said about the watch in that thread.
I know now that what initially attracted me to it (besides the sheer physical beauty!) is that it is a real timepiece. Not a “fashion” watch quality-wise. Real horology.
I’m still staring at it all the time...and actually slept with it on last night!!!!

They're definitely not "fashion watches" at all! They are certainly some of the most imaginative watches, with the Grand Bal versions being so unique that even brands like LV and Hermes don't have anything so distinctive to contribute to the Haute Horlogerie world despite being very successful at what they do.

Side note I love watching the products being made in the videos that they usually do it really makes these items feel special and it's nice to see the craftsmanship even if it is just a little snippet.

I wonder if anyone had a problem with ceramic could be so brittle sometime? I made a mistake to cause a crack on the link when trying to sizing down, now I have to send to get repaired.
Any what if you needed extra link, will Dior still providing ceramic link for 38mm, especially when you didn't purchase directly from their boutique? I plan to get one from the gray market. I honestly love this design too much, more than J12.
